Out of nowhere, we have a whole new album from 2014 CBC Searchlight winner Lauren Mann (then of Lauren Mann & The Fairly Odd Folk).
Dearestly, Mann said in her announcement, is a chronicle of the past four years. “[…]Full of triumphs, sorrows, incredible experiences, many miles traveled, lots of amazing people, and an incredible musical journey.”
Released on Pender Island, B.C.’s WildWood label, Mann decided to make Dearestly a pay-what-you-want “to try and get the album into as many ears as possible. Since I don’t have a lot of industry support, my fans and friends are what will help get the word out. So, if you are excited about what you hear, I would love it if you’d share the digital download link with your friends and help me spread Dearestly far and wide.”
Of course, the album is available in physical form as both a CD, 140gm black vinyl and 180gm Deluxe gold vinyl. Coming next month, you’ll also be able to purchase it in a bundle with a package of the lovably punny “Dearestea” to enjoy while you listen to it, looking at a beautiful poster and wearing a comfy tee.
Check out the title track and pick up the album for yourself here! You can catch Lauren Mann with her full band at any of 50 tour dates all across Canada, starting in Yellowknife on July 15.
Lauren Mann is looking to do a series of solo house shows in the U.S. for the return trip from Nova Scotia – from Boston to Seattle – from Nov. 21 to Dec. 10. Get in touch with her if you’re interested in hosting one.
