Around 2000, Alexander Ortiz and Vincent Levesque along with Antonin Marquis formed a band with synthesizers, bass, vocals and drums. In their own words the band likes to qualify their sound as “a post-punk landscape with analogue trees. Like rock after the postmodern explosion”. Nameless until 2002, Alexander showed up at the jam space wearing a home-made shirt with a skull spitting a synth displaying the inscription, ‘We Are Wolves’.
Releasing their first studio album “Non-Stop Je Te Plie en Deux” in October of 2005 on the American label Fat Possum and they promoted the album with shows at international festivals including Le Rock dans tous ses états, Les Eurokéennes, Dour Festival, SXSW, CMJ, Virgin Festival and Osheaga. They had previously had their first North American tour in the spring of 2005 where they opened for …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and The (International) Noise Conspiracy. In September of that year, they performed at North East Sticks Together. A second tour came in 2006 in which they supported the Gossip in addition to some solo gigs across Canada and the United States. They completed a five-week tour in Europe with Montreal act Duchess Says, in summer 2006.
Their second full-length album “Total Magique” was released in September of 2007, their first for Dare To Care Records. After sold out gigs in Quebec, receiving the M-Galaxie Prize at M for Montreal and participating in four shows for CMJ, the band toured Canada, the U.S. and Europe in 2007-2008.
Over the following years We Are Wolves would release another two albums with Dare To Care Records, “Invisible Violence” in October of 2009 and “La Mort Pop Club” in February of 2013.
This brings to September of 2016 when their first release via Fantôme Records “Wrong” and fifth studio album overall was released. As has become the norm for We Are Wolves, they toured Europe before returning home to Canada to continue promoting their work. For more details see the short schedule and why not give the album a listen.

Good morning!
Good (???) morning. This is *the day*, for South o’ here. “President Trump”? Naaaaaaaaaaaw.
But even if he’s defeated, watch for “Hillary persecution” to pick up where “Obama crucifying” leaves off — assuming no large changes happen in their House of representatives.
Must remember to get popcorn for tonight. Maybe two snacks, white cheddar popcorn, and oh-so-orange Cheesies.
Thanks for posting, garf. I’m playing through the elpee.
The deejay at KEXP is clever. He just played Kermit the Frog’s *Rainbow Connection*, then Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong; and now, the rocking (What’s so Funny About) Peace Love and Understanding, (Elvis Costello): the time is just turning to seven a.m. in the Pacific zone.
So, he lulled people awake comfortably at around a quarter to seven, and then: TALLY HO!
Hi Everybody
(Bonjour Benoit)
Now we can create a virtual Grant Lawrence to host podcasts for us!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-37899902
I wonder how Craig would feel if we used that to resurrect the Sunshine Dick show
I’m sure he’d simply love it.
My reaction to audio photoshopping? Surprise it took so long.
Good morning!
Hello, janet!
Hi Janet
I’m trying to decide whether or not to watch the election returns tonight…. In one way I want to see history being made, and in another, I don’t want to see President Trump get elected….
@Janet, I will be watching the results come in
Good morning everyone! Election day down here….. I am cautiously optimistic for a Hillary win. I’m am so sick of Cheeto.
@Garf – that will be a late night for you!
I’ll be watching Detroit Red Wings hockey.
@Janet, that’s why I got up late 🙂 (and have very little planned for the rest of the week)
Election – I’m not keen on Reality Television. Too fake.
Bonjour!
Speaking of sports few Americans watch, I see Montreal and Toronto have made it through to the MLS Eastern Conference Final
@SRK, But this time people get to suggest who should be in the Big Bother house
I prefer to see it as a real-life *The Apprentice* referendum, where the people get to say “You’re fired” to someone…
Good job Garf! Typo on the last line. Foe should be For.
@DBS, Thank you
This is a pretty good anti Trump playlist.

McDonald’s is suing Florence for €18m after it was blocked from opening a restaurant on one of the Italian city’s most historic plazas.

NPR selects 18 of the albums that are just old enough to vote today
I think Florence should sue McDonald’s for their hamburgers on principle.
Cheeto voting… WTF https://twitter.com/BuzzFeed/status/796033411626450944
Justin – for a moment I wondered if the picture was photo-shopped
He does look less orange
His orangeness, slight at best, is washed out by the bright yellow wall’s reflected light.
Can’t wait for the headlines.
ORANGE CRUSHED!
When you’re worried your wife copied off of Malia. The orange doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Slow days these days.
“See you” tomorrow.
I liked the We Are Wolves tracks btw.
Hello? Are we here today?
Sort of…
Sorry for the lack of new content
yeah, it is a slow news day.
Well…. I am highly disappointed.
As an American I always knew we had an underside of the unsavory. Along with this we are also a group of incredibly good people with integrity, work ethic, and moral ethic. Those positive values have always kept the fear and hate in check, until now. I am disappointed with Trump but what concerns me even more are my fellow Americans that made the choice to choose someone of such low character on every level.
Moving forward we US citizens must fight the good fight moving forward. But baked into that statement implies that the fight would be divisive. Rather in this effort we must be compassionate, principled, and do our best to be address those underlying fears that caused this. Not the surface fear or racism or economic anxiety but at a deeper level of when people feel unsafe. As the need to feel safe is primal, people will revert to that when they feel danger or marginalized.
As sad as it is, by being a ‘Strongman’ authoritarian candidate many Trump voters feel a sense of safety in that regardless of all external arguments about sexism, bigotry, etc, that he embodies, those arguments or just hot air to them. All those surface level fears of ‘the other’ like immigrants, people with a different skin color, strong women, should not be validated, but the fear behind those beliefs should.
For the future I am still optimistic, and now highly motivated, to make things right.
Just a note:
FDR said that the U.S. was fighting for the four freedoms in WWII.
The freedom of speech
The freedom of worship
The freedom from want
The freedom from fear
I feel for you Justin. There is quite the divide in your country right now….I used to feel that a high percentage of Americans were just like me (not racist, misogynistic or homophobic). Turns out it’s only half.
But that’s not really the case is it?
Trump just mobilized those people to get out and vote

I have thrown together a post for today. Should I post it now or keep it in reserve and we can keep talking here?
@garf I say go ahead and post it.
Hi all. I am still in shock.
