On Tuesday, multiple sites reported details about Feist’s fifth studio album Pleasure, the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2011’s Metals. Tuesday afternoon, Feist used Twitter to address the early reports and share the record’s cover art. “Much to my surprise, I woke up this morning to see the word is out for Pleasure,” she wrote. See some of Feist’s tweets about her upcoming Pleasure album below.

So here's what I can tell you….
I made this record last winter with 2 of my closest friends, Mocky and Renaud LeTang.— Feist (@FeistMusic) March 14, 2017
I was raw and so were the takes.

I titled the album Pleasure like I was planting a seed or prophecising some brightness.

“I was raw and so were the takes.” Promising…
Good morning. Lots of snow here. Perhaps not quite as much as in Montreal and Sherbrooke (QC), but what looked like it might miss us ended up not only passing slowly, but coming back on us (top counterclockwise). It’s still not done. That said, people here just put up with it, thinking “unexpected”, but we’re not like in New York, where people seem to congratulate themselves on surviving any amount of the white stuff — at least going by late night talk show hosts.
Good morning! We got 4 inches of snow in our first snowfall Monday night into Tuesday. Schools have been closed for two days. Virginia doesn’t like snow, and seems to forget that it happens every year, so they’re constantly underprepared for snow every winter.
Hello,
I don’t think we have had much more than an inch of snow in total this year (at least here anyway)
I like States where they don’t often get snow, but do get some, and where municipalities (etc.) have discovered that you can multipurpose some trucks, say larger dump trucks, with a basic plow blade, just so that occasional dump of snow can be better coped with. This without having to tie up as many hundreds of thousands in dedicated snow plows that would basically sit rusting most of the time.
Feist: I’m happy for her new album, she’s been one of our most distinctive Canuck singer-songwriters for years. She inevitably gets lots of CBC radio play (and some other stations too), which speaks of how many people she reaches.
That cover though, it looks like the woman’s running straight *into* that door. My first reaction was “photoshop!”, but then again, the image is so strong that we’ll probably get used to it right quick.
Good morning!
We’re on our second winter here.
Is that anything like second breakfast
I just had a second breakfast: 2 X-large scrambled eggs with a nut of butter and one teaspoon of maple syrup. With a piece of whole grain toast. Num. ‘Second’ because I had a bowl of cereal earlier, and went out to cope with that foot of snow everywhere. (Not complaining.)
Had to do it in two stints though. And pretty well as soon as I’d finished and come back in, the plough came up the street.
Went back out to shove that stuff, well, away from my driveway entrance and back into the street.
tum de dum
We haven’t passed the point of having enough people to keep the conversation going all the time and thus bring in more people.
Morning!
Have you seen this one?
http://people.com/politics/daily-show-bbc-video-trump-team/
So funny!
I enjoyed the Trump version so much more than the original!
OK, so for those playing along at home (or at work) I am going to Manchester to see John K Samson on May 19th. I then found out that on the same night Jenn Grant is performing about 160 meters away. I have now found out that she will be performing alongside the Gorgeous Hanna Georgas.
Geez…
Cancon much?
Garf: how dare they!?
Is there any way you can see both?
I have never had to choose between two shows that I know I can attend before.
I am hoping the set times will be staggered enough that I can alternate between venues
The Samson show is listed between 7pm and 10pm, Hanna and Jenn’s show is listed as 7:30pm to 10:30pm but I can’t see them sticking to 30 minute sets.
I am thinking of hanging around the bar the Ladies are playing in on the afternoon to see if I can meet them and buy my merch before the show (and annoy the sound guy again)
Do that. And annoy the sound guy alright, tell him just how big a fan you are, and how dare they compete with one another…
Hanna and Jenn are set to perform at the same place I saw Royal Canoe and I asked the man behind the bar if it would be OK for me to go back and talk to the band but the sound guy said they had rules about fans being in the room for sound check and how I would set a precedent (the band were happy for me to be there but then again I had delivered them beer)
I don’t like it when people pull the ‘precedent’ explanation. It’s bullshit. It’s a precedent if you (the managers) decide that it’s one. You’re not a court, which is the place when precedents actually matter.
IOW: “It’s a precedent if *you* make it one. Otherwise, it’s only one exception!”
If my spelling was any worse I would qualify to be the next precedent
You don’t lie often enough.
No, I just haven’t been caught lying enough yet
I don’t think I said hello yet. Hello!
With taking a cat to the vet and trying to get work done before I take off to Edmonton. I am a bit busy.
Hi DarBar, how is the cat?
I haven’t heard from the vet yet. I am assuming she is pissed off and traumatized. She sure wasn’t happy going there.
good afternoon friends.
the working out of the house portion of the day is done as are errands and now I can crank the tunes and make a pot of soup.
@janet way up there you said something about four inches of snow and the schools closing … seriously? four inches is all it takes!
Hi Morgana!
Yup, 4 inches of snow in DC and they close schools for 2 days. It’s incredible to me. And, it’s not like it doesn’t snow down here every year, there’s no reason why this area could be better prepared for snow!
This is an artist that i have been really looking forward to putting out new work! I am doing my best not to get too excited so that no matter how good the album is I somehow feel let down. Nope, just really looking forward to it:)
@jenet snow removal is expensive so maybe they are just looking to save a buck.
So I waited too long to decide on the Mother Mother concert. My energy available to output on fun stuff like shows has been varying greatly so I did not throw down the $30 but in stead waited … too long. Poop!
It’s a logical argument (to save money) except that the road were plowed yesterday. Virginians and DC residents are just scared of winter!
Too bad about waiting on Mother Mother, I’m sorry you’ll miss the show 🙁
@Janet, you should reach out to Mother Mother to see if you can get in as press
I could be upset or I could remind myself of my upcoming shows; Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Shred Kelly and Said the Whale … all within five days!
Morgana not Janet, I could have gone back and edited that to cover my mistake but I chose not to do that
But if Mother Mother ever comes to the DC area, I could totally reach out and see if I can get in as press 🙂
@wild racoon I did drop a wee hint to a friend who could make it happen. If it works out I would be grateful but feel like I should save asks for when I really, really, really want to get into a show.
