T. Thomason’s latest EP sweet baby is set to be officially released through Rae Spoon’s Coax Records on May 12, 2017, preceded by the whip-smart first single, “My Kind.” Thomason will be showcasing at Canadian Music Week in Toronto on April 19 at Cherry Cola’s, with further shows confirmed for May with the band CAMERON [see full schedule below].
Overall, sweet baby is a declaration of independence for an artist you may have heard before, but never like this. Having made a bright and infectious pop-rock statement on the 2014 album Columbus Field, Thomason has graduated to a higher level of lyrical incisiveness and hard-hitting sonic experimentation on “sweet baby”. In basic terms, it’s about leaving teenage angst behind and fully embracing who you really are.
The Nova Scotia native recently made it to the Top 25 of the 2017 CBC Searchlight competition, adding to a list of achievements that include several East Coast Music Award nominations, as well as sharing stages with Joel Plaskett, Hey Ocean!, Collective Soul and The Trews.
Recorded at Toronto’s Coalition Music, sweet baby was produced, engineered and mixed by Dave Henriques, with a core group that included guitarist Stewart Cameron and drummer Blake Manning (both of The Heartbroken and the Matthew Good Band), keyboardist Jeremy Dutcher, bassist Kyle Teixeira, and special guest Kenny Boothby of Toronto’s Little Kid.

Good morning!
How was your weekend?
It was pretty good. How was yours?
Mine was quite, I just watched TV for most of it
Did you watch anything good?
howla fellas, what’s the beery?
I watched the first season of The Expanse on Netflicks (we don’t get the second season until to finishes over there) and finished the first season of Gaurdians of the Galaxy cartoon along with the usual Friday night shows for me of Hawaii five-0, McGyver and, Last Man Standing.

Hello all!
Hello you
LIstening to the new Leeroy Stagger, which comes out Friday
http://www.cbcmusic.ca/first-plays/257/leeroy-stagger-love-versus
I saw something on FB that the new NP album is on first play, but couldn’t find it
Krib, I don’t know if NPR geoblocks their stream, but if they don’t there’s a first listen here: http://www.npr.org/2017/04/03/522193333/first-listen-the-new-pornographers-whiteout-conditions
found it!
how ’bout those Junos, eh?
I didn’t actually watch. I streamed about 5 minutes of Lana and that guy she was hosting that thing with that was Juno related…
I watched the opening number with a Tribe Called Red, and Tanya Tagaq, but that was it.
I didn’t watch any of the Juno’s, mostly because I forgot they were on (the fact that nobody shows them over didn’t help)
It was my son’s 24th birthday yesterday. We were busy eating pizza and cake.
Sounds like a much better time than watching the Junos!
Hi All! Had a good time on Friday for STW, gotta admit though I liked Fast Romantics better, saw some of our regular R3ers at the event, all around good show.
I like Rae Spoon, so I’ll be checking out this T. Thomason’s stuff
Agreed Janet!
That’s great Wynnsie! Love R3 meet ups.
There might be a small Euro R3 meet up at the Canada Day Celebrations in London this year
That’s fantastic!
I am really really looking forward to Vancouver and the one that will be happening there.
I still think we should be having one out at Gateway Fest as well.
I already have my train to and hotel room in London paid for I just need to work out how I can get to the train station for 5am (90minutes before the buses start running)
I’m debating that one, darbar.
But…Richard Thompson! This will probably be the only chance for me to see him live, ever
good afternoon everyone!
Hi Morgana
Hello morgana!
I will check in with people about Gateway again…and again. 😉
Something like Interstellar Rodeo in Winnipeg might have a better chance. I wonder when they announce their line up.
I’d like to see 54-40, and if Gateway admission came with a time machine to before Tom Cochrane wrote Life is a Highway, I’d be all over that
i made a friends son very happy on Saturday night when I gave him my ticket to the sold out Shred Kelly show.
