Following hot on the heels of their successful (over 800,000 plays on Spotify and nearly 100,000 plays on SoundCloud) first EP “Johnny” last year Basement Revolver have released a track from their second EP “Agatha”, due out July 21st.
Lead singer Chrisy Hurn on the new single:
“Johnny Pt. 2 was written almost directly after I broke up with “Johnny” – it was the heartbreak caused by an end, the wish that I could have been better, and the desire to continue a friendship. When a friendship wasn’t possible, I wanted them to know that heartbreak or not, I would be there if needed – I would put aside all the things that broke our relationship and the things that gave me identity for a chance at friendship. In hindsight, I have since learned a lot about myself, and that I don’t need to disappear in order to have people that I care about in life.”
Hello
Good morning!
Hello hello! Happy Victoria Day! If you celebrate that sort of thing.
Yeah, Happy Victoria Day
Our Bank Holiday is next Monday
Good morning everyone!
@Garfield, how was the JKS show?
@Janet, it was great thanks for asking. I got to speak to both Christine Fellows (who’s name sounded familiar but I couldn’t remember why until she sang when I remembered Parlor Rollers and Spinster Almanac) and John K Samson.
When he played One Great City I was surprised that so many people knew the words it became a sing along.
I’m glad you had a great time! The last time I saw him play here I was surprised that people know the words to One Great City! too, but everyone sings along.
