It is Bank Holiday Monday here in the UK (and I am too energy efficient to come up with something to post). This traditionally means that many places are closed and the heavens open (as in rain).
With this in mind, I am going to leave the topic of conversation open for today. What did you do over the weekend, did you attend any festivals/sporting events over the weekend, let us know what you thought below?
As many of you will know there is a party being held by the folks at Canada House in London on July 1st and as part of the build up they have been posting 50 Canadian Things in the UK and I have been pinning them to a map… this map.
hello
Hey Garf. Kind of like Watercooler Wednesday? Fun map.
Hi Darlene, I was thinking more “just a show” type posts, but yeah
Hi. Rainy here too. Nice Sunday though, it lived up to its name.
Pet peeve about screwed up English: I’ve been noticing more and more people writing about “stepping foot” in such and such a place.
I was posting too fast, it said. I clicked “Go back”. It had posted. I don’t understand.
@BfO, don’t get me started on broken English
Also a pet peeve: people describing things as “one dimensional”. Which means “a line”, heh.
The traditional expression is two-dimensional, but I suppose some who don’t realise the basic meaning are (sort of) inflating the expression by decreasing the number.
We could use some rain here. It has been cloudy and incredibly windy but not much water falling from the sky.
Definitely more Just a Show Garf. I knew it reminded me of something but hadn’t had coffee yet. ;-p
The Playing for Change event I was organizing for Friday night went very well. I was worried how we were going to fit the packed schedule in but with the sound guy’s help and cooperation of the performers it ran very smooth. It was gratifying to pull it off. Saturday morning I was exhausted but it was a full day of festival stuff, drumming in a parade, running our info booth, checking in on my guy’s guerilla jam on his front lawn and then over to a friend’s for dinner. Sunday was a much needed day of rest. Tired but happy.
I get to chat with myself again today I see. hehe
The place is well below critical mass, I’m afraid.
Sadly so but we keep on chugging.
