Last week, you may remember, we displayed some of our early ideas for T-shirts to mark our first birthday on June 28th.
This week we are not only bringing you a preview of the designs created by Michael Wynn (see above) but you also have the opportunity to tell us which of the ten, yes ten, designs we have created so far you like by clicking on all of the ones you like.
What do you think of the designs? Are there any changes you would like to see? Do you have a design idea yourself? Please let us know in the comments bellow.
Hello hello! Quick question about the t-shirt pole: Is there a limit to the number of designs to vote for? Not that I’m going to vote for all of them, but there are a couple that I like.
you can vote for as many as you like (I have voted for all of them to test the system)
Thanks!
Hi All, @Garf, maybe if one or two don’t make the 1 year anniversary, we can still use for a t-shirt idea? Or we just limit the sales to a few shirts vs just one, i guess it depends on the costs, etc.
And good morning! (Afternoon for you Garf)
@Wynnzie, I was planning on selling the shirts using on demand printing by teespring because there are no upfront costs.
If there is a tie for 1st or 1st and 2nd are within a vote or 2 we could sell more than 1 shirt. We could also make the colours the limited selling point rather than the design if the winners are not anniversary specific.
Good morning!
I was at a Wilco concert over the weekend, and their opening act was a folk band from southern Saskatchewan, Kacy and Clayton. They weren’t bad, not my favourite, but they played pretty well.
Oh right (and good morning), I should give you a report on Spencer Burton. The tl;dr version would be “very very good in all ways, if you like reflective and genial singer-songwriter (folk division) stuff”.
Kacy and Clayton have been creating some buzz for a couple years around here. There album coming out in August is produced by Jeff Tweedy of Wilco. Kind of a big deal!
(They aren’t really my jam either, but I am damn proud of them)
T-shirts: I appreciate the 1 year anniversary thing but I won’t be buying a bunch of OurBasement t-shirts so will be going with a design just about OurBasement. I also appreciate the work Garf and Wynnsie did on them. Thanks guys!
My other design thought was putting an Est 2016 on instead of 1 year. That I can go with as well.
Kacy and Clayton mentioned that Jeff Tweedy was producing their album, that is really cool! Wilco brought them out to sing a version of California Stars for their encore, which was really fun! Poor Kacy looked terrified the whole time though, and I wondered if she suffered a bit of stage fright.
@janet – What fun. No doubt very overwhelming! A couple of small town kids on the big stage. Jeff Tweedy seems to like our Sask artists. He is an Andy Shauf fan as well. I bet he likes Colter Wall too. Also I love Wilco! I saw them last year at Interstellar Rodeo in Wpg. So good!
Thanks for the review on Spencer Burton. It sounds like it would be a fun evening of entertainment. If he ever comes this way I will check him out.
In other news, I replaced my stolen bike yesterday. I had my first ride to work today and it felt pretty darn good. Here’s hoping I have a glorious summer of bike riding!
Hi DBS, would I be right in thinking you will be keeping the bike in the house now?
Only if I get a wall hanger installed in the stairwell at the back door. My house is too small and cluttered to fit a bike in it and I am not carrying it up and down those basement stairs whenever I want to go for a ride. It will be locked inside the locked garage for now. I may just leave it locked at the back door as well. Not sure.
One more day until the Long List is revealed! I am excited!
I am sure I will stop talking about Polaris in October or so. :-p
HA!
Yeah, dar, Spencer Burton has everything. I feared he might ‘just’ have a deep, rich voice, but he actually has quite the range, and a very melodic approach to things. Very well rounded. The only problem might be that he doesn’t travel much from his little town in the Niagara peninsula (if I heard that right).
I had my doubts he would come through here anytime soon. I am glad you enjoyed the show though.
G’night folks
