Edmonton based progressive indie rock band The New Haunts are an unconventional mix of guitar riffs and detailed rhythms. They produce truly original music by combining influences from each member’s eclectic styles and musicalities. The music is inventive, honest, and attempts to connect with the listener on a thoughtful and emotional level.
The project began when former co-workers Rory Brown and Aaron Sabourin met by chance in an Edmonton guitar shop. Rory had an opportunity to go into the studio and they decided to collaborate on a record. They added Bruce Pelland on bass before beginning work in the studio. After completing the album at Sound Extractor Studios with Stew Kirkwood producing, engineering, and drumming on the record they brought Bill George on as drummer for live shows and future projects.
The current line up has been perfecting their live show as well as continued creative work for follow up releases since 2015 and are just beginning to hit their stride. As Oskar Zybart from CKUA radio said: “Their’s remains one of the best live performances I’ve seen this year and shows great promise of better things to come.”
Good morning!
Hello. It’s Monday here. Strangely uninspiring.
Out. Later…
Hello
Hello hello! Garfield my chocolate arrived on the weekend, thank you very much!
@Janet, you are welcome, I hope you liked the postcards as well (I thought they would last a little longer)
I do like the postcards! I put them on my bulletin board in my home office, Durham castle is quickly turning into vacation goals!

garf, 7:45, nice googlepix; thanks. (Good 360 and also zoom!)
Good morning everyone!
In other news, my shirt arrived today!
I got my shirt on Friday!
Mine arrived Friday too!
Hello all! How was your weekend? Mine was busy but pretty darn good.
My t-shirt reached Canada on the 12th but that is the last tracking I get.
The air is smokey here today from the BC fires. That always amazes me that smoke travels so far.
I am listening to The New Haunts. Not bad not bad.
The weekend was that good huh?
yeah, I don’t like bragging
I installed a ceiling fan.
I could use a ceiling fan in my place. My house gets so hot and more air circulation would be good.
Ha! Sorry for bragging myself Garf.
Russ Gordon, living the high life with his fans
I’ll see myself out
My weekend was nothing exciting at all, mostly spent working on a paper, with a diversionary trip to the grocery store.
I didn’t leave the house all weekend 😀
Haha Garf!
The Footloose musical kept me pretty busy and those songs will be running through my head for awhile. I even watched the movie one night. I was surprised at just how many lines were word for word the same in the play as they were in the movie. I had a birthday lunch and visit with a few people on Saturday.
I am having a birthday party this Thursday night at my guy’s show. It will be a prog rock/jazz fusion/bday party. It was a way to celebrate and get a few people to the show. hehe.
Then Friday we are off to Gateway Music Fest in Bengough, SK. Woot!
I had a nap on Sunday afternoon
A nap sounds lovely! I could use one now.
I regretted my nap, I couldn’t get to sleep until 3am
I am trying not to nap at work here. It is a struggle.
Is the rapped fire conversation not keeping you awake?
Bahaha! NO!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Garf: That’s easy for *you* to type…
