We are going to revisit our stream of consciousness playlist this week. It has been awhile since we have worked on it so let’s see what we can come up with.
Don’t know what I am talking about? Here is the basic rundown. We started with a song and then took the words in that title to come up with the title of another song and then another word from that title led to the title of another song. For example…Till The Cows Come Home led to Is Anybody Home which led to Record Body Count and Is Anybody Out There (sometimes we get a couple songs snuck in there). Then we went to Out of My Head and Inside and Out and A Bird Flew Inside the House led to Big Bird in a Small Cage and ended on Big Sky Country.
We have had a few sessions with this and are at 115 songs to start off today. So lets keep following that stream, and see where we go from here. The next song in the stream would be one with Sky or Country in the title. What have you got? Remember to keep it Canadian.
It is a pretty great playlist we have created so you should take a listen.
Goooooooood Fishday.
Is my fishy wish going to just lie there, long past its best before date?
Hello hello! And a good fishday to you as well, Benoit!
Good morning!
hello
Hello, janet!
For the playlist, Diamond Sky by k-os.
Good morning! I will add that Janet. Nice.
Or will I? I may need more coffee but I didn’t find it.
It was off the Black on Blonde album, but I don’t know if it’s on Spotify
That album is on there but not that song title. Maybe it has a different title.
Hello??? I can’t listen to this playlist at work… 🙁
In theory it’s the second track on the BLack album. however, we can keep searching for Sky or Country if you can’t find it.
Sorry Wynnsie. I guess we will have to work on some other format.
The second song is listed as Don’t Touch feat. Sam Roberts. We may have to keep searching. :- /
It’s really strange. The album should have 16 tracks but only 10 are on Cdn Spotify.
There are lots of Sky and Country songs though.
Nice one! Love the cartoon too. 🙂
And happy Friday of a long weekend for many!
Hi Samara! 😀
Hello Samara!
Darbar, I have this weird block in my brain, the only song I that keeps popping into my head is Big Country, by Big Country, who are not Canadian. I’m still looking thought 🙂
Oh! What about Country Day by Tragically Hip? It’s off the We Are the Same
Added! Thanks Janet. 🙂
Day would be the next word in a title we are looking for.
Hi Samara
I have added Spend My Day by Mobina Galore
Spend or My is next.
I’m giving away my age here,
My Girl by Chilliwack
Jill Barber – Oh My My
Great! I went with Oh My My first to use another My for My Girl. Thanks Garf and Scott!
Next word is Girl.
Hey hi! I tried to comment earlier but there was no post comment button.
Now I know it’s because my comment was too long!
I can only write one line or post comment disappears…
Too long? Really? Sometimes there are glitches but that is a new one.
Yes, should have said ‘from my phone’
Damn phones!
So just briefly – HI Darbstar, Janet, Garf and all! 🙂
Darbs yeah, I love /hate my phone
Haha! Can’t get too wordy. Nice to see you drop in and say hello. 🙂
Thanks DB! It was (is?) weird time for me for a bit. Hope to be round more now
I’ve been getting the basement emails & reading posts tho. You’re all genius
Hope all is okay now and we get to see you around here more.
I have been wondering how you were Samara and if I should send more Marmite
Thx darbar & garf, I’m ok it’s just a lifetime thing w my head
Damn heads!
Lol yes, damn heads! Mine’s always going off on its own tangent
Glad to see you drop by Samara!
Unfortunately, I’m headed out, but I’ll leave you with the suggestion of Not My Girl by Tokyo Police Club.
Thx Janet! Have a great weekend
Hey All, How easy was it to add the email subscription to the site here? Is it some kind of third party thing or part of WordPress?
@Wynnzie, I have no idea, you should ask Justin
@Samara, how is Molly Dog?
Garf these past few months she suddenly seems older! Slower… but healthy
Yeah, I understand that, The dog that runs my life is on medication for his arthritis but is almost 18
Garf she’s always been such a wild pup it’s strange, but she’s happy so I’m happy
I hope to meet her some day
Garf I’ve informed her she has to live forever so you’ve got time 🙂
tell her I will bring treats made of real cats
Lol garf she almost got a cat in our garden last night and I almost died
Not My Girl added. Thanks Janet!
Next word would be Not or My again.
Dammit…
I have fixed it Russ
Russ exactly *glares fiercely at Molly* “bad dog!”
@Samara, we would buy cat food once in a while for the dogs and I would tell them there was real cat in it
Is “Bad” her middle name?
Garf hah like Jeremy getting her rabbit and saying it’s the Easter Bunny!
Garf it’s Savage, like me! Lololol
ah, but is she (and are you related to Adam?)
He wishes he was related to such cool peeps as me and Molly! 😉
I bet he does
Ok, I should go. Supposed to be at a birthday party in an hour-ish
See you guys next week! 🙂 Thx for fun chats
have a great weekend Samara
Bye Samara!
I Will Not Be Struck by Gord Downie added.
Words to look for: I, Will, Be, Struck.
Love Struck – Mother Mother
Not sure I can accept that Garf. It looks like Love Stuck not Struck is the title. hehe
making the rules up as you go?
Not me no. You want me to bend the rules to make it fit? :p
bugger!
What did you call me? Haha!
nothing *shifty eyes*
Julie Will Jump The Broom – Cadence Weapon
Umm…it’s not showing up for me.
Not available in Canada for some fricken reason.
Your Fight Will Not Be Long – The Wooden Sky
Bingo! That one works. Thanks for persevering Garf! 🙂
Next words: Your, Fight, Not, Be, or Long.
I am looking forward to a nap after work. I will have the house to myself this evening for the first time in a long time!
I had a lie in this morning and got up at 10
I look forward to doing that tomorrow morning.
I added Why We Fight by Fast Romantics
Next words: Why or We
That one works! Yay!
Move or Away are the next words.
Nice! Hmmm Knight.
which still leaves us with Knight. Ha!
This is where we bend the rules a little if we can’t find Knight we could use night.
what about this theme tune from a show created in Canada?
Not available in Canada.
Well done Garf! Ha!
Words: Two, &, Madness should be easier.
Maidens not Madness! I need new glasses. :p
Alright, I am closing up shop at work. I will keep checking back over the long weekend.
Have a good one!
g’night
Haha! Giving us lots of options with that one Garf!
Dear Don There Are …. Eight O’Clocks In The Course Of A Day
We should be able to find something. Our playlist is at 128 songs now and runs for 8 hr and 10 min.
hello and happy
Heritage Day (Alberta)
Terry Fox Day (Manitoba)
New Brunswick Day (New Brunswick)
British Columbia Day (British Columbia)
Natal Day (Nova Scotia)
Civic/Provincial Day (Many regions)
Summer Bank Holiday (Scotland)
Monday (USA)
Monday (England)
Hello hello! I always loved this holiday growing up, it felt like everyone decided they wanted one last cottage weekend, before the fall, but no one could decide on what the holiday was going to be called. As a result you get Garfield’s list. Even in Ontario, some areas (closer to Simcoe County) would call it Simcoe Day, and others would just call it the Civic holiday.

Happy Civic Holiday Monday! August Long is usually what you hear around here.
Hi DBS
Hi Garf.
Apparently we also call it Saskatchewan Day as someone on my FB just posted.
I just added Anything You Want Dear by Zeus to the playlist.
I got my list from timeanddate.com , that’s my excuse and I am sticking to it
From another site:
“It’s called Regatta Day in Newfoundland, Terry Fox Day in MB, Saskatchewan Day in SK, British Columbia Day in BC, Natal Day in Nova Scotia and PEI, Simcoe Day in Toronto, New Brunswick Day in New Brunswick, Colonel By Day in Ottawa, Heritage Day in Alberta and Joseph Brant Day in Burlington, ON. It is called Benjamin Vaughan day in the City of Vaughan, Ontario.”
I think you can make up any name you want. I am now calling it OurBasement Day.
You know, I grew up in Burlington, Ontario, and had no idea it was called Joseph Brant day.
Some day I might grow up in Canada. Hell. it would be something if I just grew up.
Nah, growing up is no fun, it’s all bills and responsibilities.
I agree Janet!
Have a great remainder of your long weekend, if you get one 🙂 I’m headed out to the library, where the Stream of Consciousness playlist will keep me company while I work on a paper.
I am watching one of those fancy new TV shows, Three’s Company
Did everybody go to the library with Janet?
If you did, I’m on the second floor by the elevators.
what floor is the “adult literature” on?
I believe that to be on the fourth floor, but that might be the adult learning section, not the adult literature.
close enough
