The members of Brenda have been involved in the Toronto punk scene for a few years and formed the current 4-piece in 2015. There’s an overall psychedelic sound with punk-inspired drumming that gives the music a burst of energy on heavy choruses. Add in the falsetto vocals for a haunting eeriness that is exemplified on the lead single.
“The single Children is about manipulation and the inevitability of growing up,” says the band. “On the surface level it could be a song about a friendship, or even a relationship, but on another level, the song is about childhood and what happens when people lose childlike innocence. Everyone, at some point, wants to escape the trappings of adulthood and run away to a place where it seems as if time doesn’t exist and age doesn’t matter. This song vacillates between these two states of being.”
Creeper will be out later this fall
Good morning!
Hey ho!
Hmmm. It’s snowing in Alberta. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Today, I continue the menial but, I insist, noble job of repainting an old shed.
Noble. No bull.
Noble indeed.
It is cold and rainy in Regina today. A few degrees cooler and it could be snow.
I like that Brenda track. Thanks Garf.
hello
Hiya Garf
I can’t stay long, I have to go and get a check up from the neck up.
But I should be back in two and a half hours or so
Hope it checks out alright. Talk to you later!
@DBS, would I be right in thinking that you will be creating a Thanks Giving playlist for Friday?
That would be correct sir. 🙂
*slowly turns around to see who is behind him*
Do you have any plans to bring back the SOC playlist?
I was thinking the week after would be time to do that again.
Hello hello! Sort of a little jealous of the snow in Alberta! But it was a beautiful fall morning, down here, so I can complain!
Hi Janet!
I was up 4 hours earlier than usual today and am nodding off at my desk. I decided since I was up I may as well come to work. I will be leaving work 3 or 4 hours earlier than usual as well. Maybe grab a nap and head to the theatre tonight. It is show week and going to be a busy one!
Whatever keeps you nappy, dar! Um, happy…
I am back
Hope the check up from the neck up went well, Garfield.
They offered my a canvas cardigan that would help me to hug myself but I didn’t like the colour
Har har
One of the plays I am working on I help someone get into a straight jacket.
In all honesty it was just one of the CBT session that I will be attending for the next few weeks
And in all seriousness, I hope it helps Garf.
It can’t hurt (I hope)
Sad news about Tom Petty. Going back to an earlier playlist topic, Tom Petty and Neil Young were two musicians that I always used to get confused.
Oh that is sad. 🙁
holy cow. Tom Petty. Only 66
was it Charles Bradley last week? He was only something like 67, too.
And I just saw Monty Hall died, although he was 96
g’night
