We are excited to share the release of Sean Beresford’s first single, “Before This There Was Everything”, from their debut album Born At Night.
Before This There Was Everything was the first song written and tracked for the record, setting a meditative tone for the whole album. It doesn’t really have a traditional structure – it just keeps going down different paths. Themes are repeated at length to grab you away from distractions and take you on an introspective journey. Sean said that “Once I finished writing ‘Before This There Was Everything’ I knew I had a vibe I could explore for an entire record.”
The album’s title came from the fact that Sean is a night owl and tends to burn the midnight oil all the time, and the creation of the material kept with that pattern.
Good morning!
Aaaand we lost Gord last night…
Hi there! Sad news last night. RIP Gord
Canada lost a good one last night but his influence will be felt for a very long time.
Hello
What a nice tribute to Gord.
*sniff* RIP Gord.
I enjoyed that Big City Cough track up there.
Today feels strange to me.
I couldn’t sleep last night meaning that today’s post was done earlier than usual which is why it is not about Gord (sorry)
Now I am sat in my room listening to R3, for the first time in a while, as if someone is going to break into a studio and start hosting again.
I’m using a vpn to listen

It is a strange day indeed. We had a freaky wind storm last night that set the mood. It felt like an apocalypse when I was out driving in it.
There’s something about windstorms in the fall that always make them seem a little worse.
A radio station in Edmonton aired a 2-hour special on Gord this morning, playing Tragically Hip songs, talking to musicians and Edmontonians. Even in Viriginia, by listening to it I felt like I was a part of the community.
I am so glad I went to Edmonton to see them on the last tour. It was a very moving concert.
@DBS, I saw you talking about it on the book of faces

Hi Justin
Hiya Justin.
How is everyone? I am good, in Bend, but was down in the Bay Area this last weekend…. which involved a lot of beer and making new friends. Saw an old friend whom we had not hung out in 7 years, that was kick A.
I’m good if a little tired. I have been following some of your exploits on facebook
