In this months podcast, Wild Raccoon looks at some of Gord Downie’s work by playing covers of Hip songs from several Canadian artists along with a cover by the man himself.
He will also share a cookie recipe from a fan of the show and discuss how he feels about the fact that we are sharing his podcasts here.
Hello
Good morning!
Good morning! Looking forward to the podcast. It not being on Spotify makes it good for me.
But I must go out. Later!
Hello hello! Excited to check out the new podcast!
Don’t be too excited, it will only lead to disappointment
Oh, okay. Moderately interested to check out the new podcast then 🙂
I would still dial it back a bit 🙂
Did I kill the blog or has the podcast stunned you into silence?
A stunning podcast?
not necessarily in a good way though
I learned an interesting lesson in the differences between Canadian and US cultures today. Canada’s statutory holiday for Remembrance Day is observed today, whereas the US had November 10th off in observation of Veteran’s Day.
And we don’t have a holiday for it at all
I’ll add that to the interesting facts, I didn’t know that at all. I know from watching the Premier League that you wear poppies though, right?
We mark the day and many parts of the country will fall silent at 11am on 11/11 but we don’t get a day off for it,
There was a few international matches on Friday & Saturday and the home nations (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland & England) along with Germany who were playing over here wore poppy arm bands for the games.
These guys, Mauno, are being presented by Arboretum (Fest) next Saturday at Pressed: I’ve just heard a couple of songs up to now, but…

g’night folks
Not sure I like the “lp noise”. Why?
It serves 2 purposes
1) it is to try and encourage people to buy, or at least stream, a better version of any song they like rather than using the one in this podcast (the same reason everything is edited on mono)
2) He is a raccoon creating a podcast on twin tape decks, there would be tape noise. Having said that, even though I used the same tape noise track as last time it did sound more like vinyl noise to me this time as well.
