Music publishers call on Canada to extend its copyright terms
The International Confederation Of Music Publishers swung by good ole Canada last week to suggest – maybe recommend – officially “request” – and possibly politely demand – that the country extend its copyright term for lyrics and musical compositions to life of the creator plus 70 years. It’s currently life plus 50 years in Canada. (CMU)

The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern A Complete History by David McPherson
Like the Queen Street strip that has been its home for seven decades, the Horseshoe Tavern continues to evolve. It remains as relevant today as it did when Jack Starr founded the country music club on the site of a former blacksmith shop, probably the reason it was called The Horseshoe Tavern. From country and rockabilly to rock ‘n’ roll, punk, alt/country, and back to roots music, the venerable live music venue has evolved with the times and trends — always keeping pace with the music. Good morning!
hello
Goooood morning.
Hello hello!
It’s a tentative moooorning… ♫
what should we talk about today?
Yeah, isn’t that just it… Fall the Serious has begun, and the skies are gray, I went for a walk — no wait, that’s California Dreaming — right, gray skies, it’s getting cold, the Dead Season is upon us. Happy happy.

🙂
I have to say it has started feeling a bit nippy here the past few days
It is currently 10° c (50°f in old money) here and due to be around 5°c (40°f) over night
Ottawa’s been freezing, and superficial snowflakes on lawns have barely been melting during the day. It’s supposed to reach 4 (New Degrees) tomorrow, though Intellicast (American) says 6 — their crystal ball model is usually more optimistic than Environment Canada’s.
I’m not complaining, though there is a little caulking I’d like to do outside, and it needs 5 degrees.
Oh, there we are, Duterte has told the rest of the world to fuck off, not literally, but sort of. Stay out of our business.
Well, that runs true to character. As have JT’s, and DT’s, own comments over there in the Far East.
So: world leaders are running true to character. Reassuring.
Duterte is on the short list of world leaders that makes me look at DT and think that he could be worse, the only problem is he does appear to be trying to correct this,
Baboom! (out for a walk; later)
It’s been fall-like down here too, highs of 8 degrees (real temperatures), and a few lows below freezing. I keep hoping for snow, but it’s unlikely that we’ll see snow before January
Canadian indie rock fans should recognize a few familiar faces in Girlfriend Material — a new project featuring Tokyo Police Club’s Graham Wright and Josh Hook, Hollerado’s Jake Boyd, and Joseph Garand.
I need to look into getting some heating in my room this year
I would be surprised if we saw much snow here this winter, we tend to have more rain and wind these days
Heating is definitely important.
I’m excited to give Girlfriend Material a listen, thanks for sharing it!
Ah, but we are built hardy where I come from
(for hardy read stupid)
hardy = living in an old place (where you are)
hardy = being tough, not giving up during hardships
Hi all!
HOW DARE YOU correct my definition! (hardy har har)
Hardly
Heartily put, that ‘hardly hardy”.
Play nice
I though we were. har har
I want to continue the har discussion, but I find coming up with another word very hard.
I canardly contain myself.
I’m ducking out of this one
Har har. The hardness of it is hardly anything to harp about.
Russ, that’s a canard! Good ‘n punny though.
Well, we killed ‘er! We killed ‘er gooood!
(The blog)
It didn’t seem that hard to do.
it’s just pining for the fjords
Nonsense, the blog was just stunned from all the puns
punned into submission as it were
Exactly!
I’m going to get an early night
g’night folks
I was away from the computer. My son that makes me think of Hym of the Medical Oddity is throwing another weird thing into the mix. Had to get to the doc and now he will be getting tests and seeing a specialist now.

Oh no! Hope your son is okay, Darbar!
He will be fine I am sure but the doc just wants to be sure because of his other medical issues there isn’t something problematic going on. Thanks Janet. 🙂
