Upside Down is intended to be an ode to the decline of the modern world and its values how they were punctuated by the US Presidential election, and the fallout thereafter. “Everything is so backward lately, we think many of us are feeling it, no matter which side you’re on. When Lexie was writing the lyrics, she couldn’t shake the imagery of Lady Liberty in bed with Donald Trump.”
“It’s punchy, it’s angry, it ticks all the boxes of how we’re feeling about what’s happening in the political landscape right now. It’s a risky song for a lot of reasons; the message yes, but in the sound design too. It’s glitchy, yet atmospheric; it lulls before shamelessly demanding the listener’s attention. It’s a great look into where FEATURETTE is at musically right now, and the direction we’re headed.”
Good morning!
Hello, Russ.
Hello
Greetings and salutations!
Hi garf. How are things in the hardly really United Queendom?
(“Kingdom” is obviously sexist.)
They are good, thanks for asking. I am just about to go out and post a birthday card to the States and a different type of card to Belgium.
How is life in Republic of Canada? (Canadian Democratic Republic)
The Bootstrap of Canada. (Because of our neat fiction involving the representative of the Queen in Right of Canada. Really funny, I think, but it works!)
How is everybody?
Hi all!
Things are good in my world.
If you saw any of that Calgary/Edmonton game yesterday you saw that wind pick up. I think that wind is here today.
I watched both games yesterday
That Sask/Toronto game was a roller coaster ride.
At least (remembering where you are, darbar) at least we didn’t have Saskatchewan representing the East!
Right?! I certainly don’t identify as East.
Even calling Manitoba “East” is funny. So it goes double for Saskatchewan.
Of course, for BCers, probably anything on the other side of the Rockies is “East”.
Ha! True. It is all relative.
Hi again! I watched both games too, and was baffled by the Edmonton field goal in the last few minutes, I don’t know why they wouldn’t have tried to tie the game.
While Saskatchewan definitely doesn’t seem east to me either, I probably would have more interest in the Grey Cup if they were playing. I don’t think I can get excited for a Toronto/Calgary game.
all of Canada is west to me
I don’t think I will watch the Grey Cup this year either
Didn’t they say something about the Roughriders being a “crossover” team
Locally, the Grey Cup game’ll be a big thing: they’re blocking Bank St to all but bus (and pedestrian, of course) traffic. And at Lansdowne Park, they’ve actually installed a large extra stand at the East end (about as big as the permanent ones!); perhaps also one on the West end, I just haven’t seen.
I will give all that wide berth.
If the fourth-place team in division A has more points, not tied, than the third-place team in division B, the fourth-place team will cross over to division B, replace the third place team in division A, and compete against the second-place team of that division.
They need a tenth team to balance the conferences (or split it into 3 sets of 3 with the top 2 from each group going into playoffs)
When I lived in Halifax there was talk of trying to get a team there, but I don’t think the market is big enough to support a team.
I was think they could have the PEI Potatoes or Atlantic Albatrosses
When I tried my hand at fantasy sports I would usually call my team the Durham Hamsters
Riders sure bands people together here. I can imagine what he it would do for Nova Scotia.
Expect an email…
who?
If the 4th place team in the West has more points than the 3rd (or 2nd or 1st, as was the case this year) place team in the East, then they crossover and take the third playoff spot in that division.
In theory, it works the other direction, too, but we have yet to see it
the scuttlebutt back in the day was that they were going to be the Atlantic Schooners
