What to do when you hear sounds that you like? Well I like to make sure that I don’t lose track of them and I also like to share them.
This grouping of music is, as the title indicates, women who have released new music in 2017. I did include bands that have women in them, not just individuals.
Why just women? I am not sure really. Why do the Oscars and the CCMA’a distinguish “the best” by gender for some of their prizes? In contrast The East Coast Music Awards does not categories their awards by gender …
Whether we decide to talk politics, gender or music or a mash up here is something to listen to while we do.
I hope you find some music you like.
Hello
Great playlist Morgana, thank you for sharing it with us.
Good morning!
We just saw Lou Canon.
Fabulous!
Hello hello! Love this playlist, thank you for sharing it Morgana!
Good morning!
I agree, great playlist and thanks for sharing it with us! 😀
It has been a while since I have asked this but are there any more student radio shows that I should add to our schedule?
I have added Rebby’s show
(edited to hide stupidity and lack of proofreading)
ADD…
Hehe
I hope she didn’t see that
Here is my stupid idea for the day
If we could find 30 volunteers at 30 student radio stations to broadcast Canadian Indie Music shows for 2 hours each week we could have a live radio station for 12 hours a day 5 days a week.
But that would never work.
anybody out there, knock once for yes and twice for no
knock knock, Neo
Hi Krib
It’s good to dream.
Hey there. I am finally up.
I am glad that you are enjoying the playlist.
Who did I forget?
Hi morgana. Seems like you pretty much covered it but if I think of someone I will let you know.
Hi Morgana
That is good. I was hoping it would end up covering the scope of the year so far.
I am sure there will be more releases this year to keep track of and figure out where to add them in.
I don’t know how you do it every week @darbar. That took me quite a while.
Good day @garfeilduk
I am going out to a craft fair shortly. A few gifts to find but I am hoping to find inspiration for the next B&W photo as well.
@morgana – Some playlists are more work than others. Some I wish I had more time to put them together properly but we do what we can with the time we have. Thanks again for doing one for us!
We are always open to people contributing to the site. If you have an idea or want to share a playlist, let us know! 😀
I imagine you are working on updating the Christmas playlist so I’ll let you know if I find any new ones to add
I have enough trouble, helping the Raccoon, with the 9 tracks for the podcast each month
I’m so appreciative of the playlists each week, but have no idea how you manage to do one each week, Darbar! They are always such a great soundtrack to my Friday!
I’m enjoying the playlist. Thanks Morgana!
…and hello everyone. Thought I’d drop in for a change and see who’s here.
nobody here but us chickens
The Usual Gang Of Idiots…to quote Benoit.
…who quoted Mad magazine
@fussyfont I am glad you are enjoying the music compilation.
I have yet to listen to the whole thing through as it turned into a bit of a lengthy monster.
I usually listen to the playlists while playing on the PS4
I like seeing what my friends are listening to on Spotify. f’rinstance right now I can see that Darbar is on the Weaves track of this playlist.
and you? what are you listening to?
Haha! Hi fussy font guy! :p
He was on Cindy Doire as I type whom I am really enjoying btw.
I enjoy making playlists but sometimes I could use some inspiration on what the theme will be. I haven’t actually looked at the Christmas one yet. I will use what I had before and try to add to it, so yes pass on suggestions.
I am not sure what next weeks playlist will be yet but I do have plans for the weeks after that. That can change easily.
@darbar she was one of the new to me artists that I came to know through making this playlist.
@morgana, accept my friend request and maybe you’ll see!
I just listened to my least favourite transition in the playlist and it still bugs me: Petra Glynt to Buffy and Tanya. I just had a hard time fitting Buffy and Tanya in anywhere; such a different sound quality – to be clear I like it it just didn’t want to blend anywhere.
@morgana – She (or someone working for her) had sent us an email about her album. It’s a good one. She was half of the Scarlett Jane duo.
Oh I know about that transition problem.
mr fussy font ? are we talking about FB? I’ll look there when I get home. Sorry, I am a bit of an idiot with the whole friends on FB thing.
I must take Suki for a walk then head to the craft fair.
On Spotify if you follow people they should show up on the side bar and you can see what they are listening to.
@morgana no worries. I only requested friendship just now. (yes, FB)
Lorde track didn’t want to work for me. Maybe she knew she wasn’t Canadian. :p
I got the Lorde track to work, but the Lido Pimienta song didn’t 🙁
Well Lido doesn’t identify as Canadian so maybe that was why. hehe
Have a great weekend all!
You too, Darbar!
g’night, have a great weekend
