The Wet Secrets – The Tyranny of Objects
Their sound has steadily evolved from filthy children’s themes to — on this, their long-awaited fourth full-length — a dark and spacey breakup-makeout session. Buoyed by congas, horns, de-Smurfed synths and the beautiful harmonies of Emma Frazier and Kim Rackel, the sounds range between Adidas tracksuit disco to at least the wrath and disappointment-as-fuel of heavy metal.(The Edmonton Journal)

Hello hello! A sparse week for Canadian music, I guess eh? Even the Wet Secrets album was a bit of surprise.
@DBS, according to bandcamp that was released last Friday
https://jonmiddleton.bandcamp.com/
but you are right, I didn’t say this week
I have just worked out a google search term to look through Bandcamp to see what will be released on a specific day from within Canada
So far I have only tested it with BC releases on Friday but I got 15 results, does this mean we should start filtering out some results or even have a 2 tier system with the current format being used for artists that already have reviews and a list of other releases with links to Bandcamp so you can decide for yourself?
The two-tier system sounds interesting, as it would still allow people to search out new music that is interesting to them, while still having some reviews to read. Since you’re the person who compiles the list it’s worth asking, which is easier for you?
@Janet, The plan is/was to use the Holiday period to try and automate the process of creating the Thursday post even more that it is now, at the moment I place specific data into a list on a spreadsheet page and the html code comes out of another page almost ready to post (it just need a clean up most weeks)
If you do a refresh I have added a few more releases for this Friday in the second level format,
hello?
Hello.
I was aware the Jon Middleton album came out Dec 1 but I don’t remember it being mentioned. I just became aware of it this morning.
When releases are slow, I am okay with widening the search. When there are a lot, I don’t need to be overwhelmed with more music to wade through. I have plenty to get through as it is. But that may just be me. Whatever works for you and others is fine.
you are correct, it was not mentioned last week and will be added to the, HDIMT list
The wacky weather continues. It was chilly and snowy for a bit and now we are back up to melting and slushy for the next week or so.
