Winter is the theme of the playlist this week. It may not officially be winter until December 21 but it sure seems like winter to me. There is snow on the ground here and it has been chilly out there. This week the temperature is warming up and some of the snow is melting but it is still winter out there. What better way to deal with the cold than listening to a playlist of music about it. What songs do you like to listen to on a cold winter day?
Hello
Goooooood day!
Hiya!
Hello hello! I’m looking forward to listening to this playlist as we prepare for and then are subsequently passed over by a winter storm.
We currently have a
Yellow Warning for Snow
Yellow Warning for Snow in effect from Sunday, 4:00 AM GMT until Sunday, 11:55 AM GMT.
Source: Met Office National Severe Weather Warnings
Ah. Not the same as a warning for yellow snow.
not quite
Well then, very wintery for you and the playlist will be great for you.
We will be mainly sunny and around the 0C mark for the next few days. I don’t mind at all.
Ottawa is cruising into winter, if this is to be believed: https://meteo.gc.ca/city/pages/on-118_metric_f.html
Right now, not that snow’s falling here, but all five Great Lakes are creating classic lake effect snow: more or less straight South (Superior), to E-E-NE in the case of Erie and Ontario. http://www.intellicast.com/National/Radar/Current.aspx?location=USNY0124

Out for a bit, to buy Christmas chocolates for family. Stubbe. Top class stuff, made right there, on Dalhousie St.

That weather map is fun to play around with
winter, a good time for brown ales and stouts.
only 13 more days until the days stop shrinking and start getting longer.
we’re practically done winter. except for that bitch of a month they call January and it’s terrible little sister February.
I haven’t had a Newcastle brown ale for ages. I might have to get some in
Mmm brown ales and stouts. Definitely a good winter beer.
OurBasement happy hour? Everyone enjoys a beverage from their location?
I just have to run down the street to grab me a Rebellion Oatmeal Stout.

We don’t have anything in the house 🙁
And I’m at work…. We might need to schedule something where it’s a little more opportune.
How about on Friday the 22nd we have our Christmas Party (byoe)
Works for me. We will probably have rum and eggnog here then instead though.
Oh! Rum and eggnog sounds great!
The 22nd works for me too.
janet, re ‘the map’, Intellicast is (IMO) far and away the best site for viewing the weather. Except for Ottawa forecasts, where Environment Canada is better, I think. Check out Intellicast’s hurricane thing, when there is one. They show possible paths.
…and if you like that, you’ll probably like earth. Click on that word to bring up the menu. https://earth.nullschool.net/
Very cool! Thanks for sharing, Benoit!
Heading out a bit early! Have a great weekend, everyone!
Christmas cheers on the 22nd sounds lovely!
Was a time selected?
and hello:)
Have a great weekend Janet!
Hello morgana! No time selected yet.
Thanks @darbar.
I am assuming it will be early evening so folks are home from work but those who are in different time zones are still awake but I’ll wait for someone else to do the math on that …
I am off to pick up a parcel delivery that I missed while out of town. I ship my stuff early to avoid line ups then miss a delivery and have to join the masses. Oh well. Some say it is part of the Christmas fun:/
How about 5pm PST, 8pm EST & 1am GMT
I have been so busy, I haven’t even begun any Christmas stuff. No clue when I am going to get it done yet. Ugh…
I bought the housemate a Dr Who audio book this year
The boy will probably get a gift certificate for driver training or something. He is ready to buy my sister’s old car and really needs to get his license. We will be independent beings one day!
I’m not expecting anything this year but I will help eat the candy the housemate brings home from his Mothers
This weather bites.
what happened to the “classic Canadian winter” we were going to get?
all we’re getting are extremes: -25 windchill one day and then melting the next
I’ve only been able to cross-country ski once so far this year
It does make it difficult. It would make for very icy skiing after the melt freezes.
and going out in warm weather can really destroy the tracks that are set
it’s crap, I tell ya…stoopid climate change!
I would like to learn how to play the jaw harp. I can’t remember who it was I saw playing one this summer but I was just reminded of it by a song by Dirtwire called All Jaw Harps All the Time. I should add that to my Christmas wish list.
My Mother used to have one of those when I was a child and I would play with it whenever I rediscovered it.

Interesting illusion.
Have a great winter weekend everybody! 😀
g’night folks, have a good one
Dang, garf, they are warning of yellow snow. It’s written right there! (Scroll down a good way) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5158749/Britain-braced-10-DAYS-sub-zero-temperatures.html?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark
@BfO, why do you read the Daily Fail? If I see any yellow snow falling I will send you video footage.
