Playlist Friday has our first playlist for 2018 and it is all about being new & rejuvenated. We are bringing in the new year with a group of songs about new things, fresh starts, changes and following our hopes and dreams. The songs come from some of our favourite Canadian Indie artists such as We Are The City, Hey Rosetta!, Wolf Parade, Royal Canoe and The Barr Brothers along with some new artists such as Saltland, Marie Davidson and Gabrielle Papillon. There are quite a few tracks from 2017 and many more from years past. Put it all together and we have musical fireworks.
I hope this playlist helps you start off the year on a good note and that your 2018 is full of great music.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
Hello
Good morning!
Greetings and salutations! Loving the playlist this week, Darbar! Thank you for sharing it!
Hi!
You guys typed a lot, yesterday…
Good Morning all! Thanks for listening to it Janet. 🙂
Darbar – are you able to comment at work again?
Probably not. I am at home right now.
That’s too bad (about not being able to comment at work, I mean).
Hi All!
Listening now Darbs to your playlist, so far so good! I’m at home today so it isn’t blocked. Tried reading the comments from yesterday but the layout is all out of whack, very difficult to read!
Me, re yesterday, all I got were bolds. (I read the comments, after hours.)
I have fixed the bold comment issue on yesterdays post
Why, yes indeed, it’s apparent that you have. Doh!
I am attempting to get here by phone with wifi off. My first attempt at posting failed.
I hardly every post anything worth using cell data on
I have lots of unused data on my plan. Our attempts at fixing our network problems have failed so far, The boss’ computer person is coming in Monday, maybe he will figure it out.
Thank goodness comments are not one word per line anymore!
Gratitude to who ever fixed that.
That sounded like a lot of scrolling
@Morgan, I think I might have fixed it, but that would only mean that I broke it in the first place
It was epic scrolling.
I am so ready for this playlist @darbar.
Too much Latin this morning. Dr phone call that was good if inconclusive and sends me to another specialist.
Music to the rescue! I miss Ohbijou. I had a ticket to see them here about five years ago but they crashed their tour van on their way here and had to cancel. Then they broke up and I am sad.
Which label is Jenn Grant on?
I see a tweet on the side here that says her label is having a sale …
Six Shooter Records I believe
That is sad about Ohbijou. I am a bit sad about Hey Rosetta as well but the playlist was meant to be uplifting!
I hope it helps some.
I have her at Outside Music, Wikipedia says she was on Six Shooter Records from 2007-2012
Ahh cool.
any exciting plans for the weekend?
Girls night tonight, possible play audition tomorrow, might go see a local band from my past tomorrow night, memorizing lines any chance I get.
I can never remember my lines
kid is going skiing
husband is leaving for a vacation
i will be feeding suki bone broth and ensure via syringe
is she not eating?
Sounds like Suki is not well. Aww
she has not wanted to eat for the last week … she wants to eat but it makes her feel unwell so then she doesn’t want to eat is more accurate.
ok, i am totally killing the vibe here so i am going to do something else.
catch you all next week.
give her hugs from us please
No worries about the blog morgana. Sorry about Suki. Hugs to you both!
