Why we should be listening to classical music by Canadian women
When you hear a piece of music, you will have one of two reactions. You will either like it enough to listen to it again, or you won’t. You might like the melody, the harmony, or the way the poetry makes you feel. Then again, you might not like the melody, the harmony, or the way the poetry makes you feel.

And Finally
hello
Good day, sir.
Sir? is someone else here?
Good morning!
Mmmmmm
Greetings and salutations!
Well, Ottawa the city has got easily 20 inches of fluffy-type snow on the ground — no melts ’til now, so it’s quite poofy snow. In the Laurentians, there’s a lot more, and the lightness of that snow makes for snowshoe traps — branches that lie here and there, and that can trip you in a flash. And legs sink down deep. It’s pretty though, wintry, about which it’s really hard to complain.
Anyway, I’m going out snowshoeing, but ‘in town’ — at the Central Experimental Farm’s Arboretum. Ciao!
aw, Dutch died. Or maybe “Doc” Roberts. I never watched Danger Bay, but I did watch Soap

Hi all!
We finally got things fixed here at work and I can access the site like normal. Woot!
RIP Donnelly.
The wintry snow sounds lovely Benoit. We are lacking in that stuff here. What we have left is hard dirty icy stuff. I hope you are enjoying your time out there.
Welcome back Candy
dar, yes I am. Just back, and it was 12-18 inches of snow when untrod. Beautiful fresh stuff, just -2 C and cloudy, a little bluster coming on because it’s clearing and getting colder: Beautiful Winter, contrasting with Cold and Demanding Winter, which we just had for a few days.
Not at all to be contrarian, but D. Rhodes had a long career. Just look a how different he appeared at various points. https://www.google.ca/search?q=donnelly+rhodes&client=firefox-b&dcr=0&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjp3-7pvcvYAhVJ7IMKHf7MCqkQ_AUICigB&biw=1440&bih=714
Thanks Garf. 😀
Nice Benoit. Our weather has been mild with possible showers today even. That won’t help the icy situation. It will be back down to -22 or so by Friday though. Ugh…
dar, ah yes, the ol’ hose ’em down and then deep-freeze ’em. Nature’s such a bitch sometimes. (Pardon the b word)
Out now to the vet’s, for the cat’s yearly indignities…
apparently there is been so much snow in parts of France it has forced them to close some of the ski resorts (am I missing something here)
Welcome back Darbar, and Benoit!
I think we’re coming out of our cold snap, it’s going to be above freezing today for the first time in a while. It was nice to have proper winter weather down here for a change.
garf, it’d be matters of access and egress, emergencies (old people dying, etc.); I think it’s all referred to as “safety”.
Of course, if you’re young, unattached and THERE, well, it’s terrific skiing or boarding…

Even more new The Low Joy Ceiling!

Thanks Janet.
I think my perfect winter would be enough snow to have fun but not enough to cause too much trouble getting around with temperatures around the -5 to -10 degree mark.
hey there friends.
our snow in town is wet and heavy.
i have been told by my kid that up at the ski hill it is great thought.
that snow shoeing this morning sounds perfect b from o!
not sure if your cat would prefer participating in that or the vet however.
my FB had an invitation to a show in it this morning.
i am not up for any shows but i am happy to share a new to me artist with you all;
Noble Son.
My Spotify account won’t let me in on the main computer this morning but I trust you can find him
Got in via FB to my Spotify so here you go

Hi Morgana.
I will check Noble Son out. I felt like I had heard of them but it’s probably just the name seems familiar.
@darbar you may well have heard of him. That is why I always say, “new to me”. I will add a special clause for the times I forgot that I had heard them before, I’ll call it the shit for brains clause …
speaking of which, I have appointments to get out the door to before I forget about them.
Before I go I was wondering if anyone listened to this recap of 2017 yet
http://strombo.com/radio/
I just think the name sounds like another band. /shrug
I meant to check that strombo show out. I saw a post on the weekend about it. Thanks for the reminder.
It may have been The Noble Thiefs or Glorious Sons I was thinking of, or a combination of the two. Maybe I should add them to that playlist I had about mixing up bands.
