Heavy Bell – By Grand Central Station
A high-art concept album about an overwhelming passion between two writers is a bold foundational choice on which to craft one’s debut, but Winnipeg-based duo Heavy Bell is composed of a seasoned indie rock veteran (Royal Canoe’s Matt Peters) and an actor/singer-songwriter (Tom Keenan), both of whom dream a little bigger than some of us.(CBC Music)
Meghan Patrick – Country Music Made Me Do It
“There’s always a high and lonesome song that keeps on pushing me along.” This line from the title track and lead single of Meghan Patrick’s latest album Country Made Me Do It is classic country and serves notice that she is determined to revive and carry the traditional torch. Meghan lives hard and loves hard, and her songs reflect this passion.(The Music Express Canada)

hello
Good morning!
Morning folks,
Thank-you for the new music.
Hi Scott, I do what I can
Don’t sell yourself short.
I don’t have time to search out new music.
You always seem to find new stuff & you don’t let the genre limit you.
I have rather different tastes, I can go from listening to old rock to classical to punk to country and enjoy them all.
So I appreciate your efforts.
Good morning! I like the straight videos, or youtubes, being made available, as I don’t do Spotify (which is known — thanks).
I always try to include a youtube video when I can for those that can’t, or don’t want to, use sporify (spotify)
you might be interested that the Ceeb have the full album at the link in the post
Sporify! I like!
Music for mushrooms?
Hello all!
Young Galaxy have a new track on Soundcloud!

sporify, full of dank tunes
Hi Candy
Suuns have a new track too!!

My housemate got 2 black & red shirts off his Mum for Christmas but he doesn’t want to wear them. I want to pinch them, but they are too small for me.
I wonder if my old lumberjack shirt from the 80s is in my basement still. I am guessing yes. Ha!
U.S. Girls have a new track as well!!

I’m wondering if I should go and see US Girls play in Manchester in May

I don’t know about you, but it is a show I would travel to go to.
it’s not the travel that worries me so much as cost and can I get a bus back the same night so I don’t need to pay for a bed
That’s all part of the travel in my mind. But no we don’t need you camping out in alleyways for a show.
Oh I am so coming back later today to catch up on all this good stuff!!
This is not new this week, just new to me.
I wanted to share some music that I came across while listening to the first half of the first half of Strombo’s 100 of 2017;
this is not usually a genre I spend much time in but I thought I would give it a try and so I am now sharing

I also like the idea of a producers showcase which he says he is doing, I just haven’t had a chance to dig into it but maybe you will before I do

I agree with Mom, no camping in alleyways.
I don’t spend nights on the streets of Manchester, I hung around one of the train stations before getting the first train home 🙂
Well the train station is better than an alleyway I guess. 🙂
Thanks for the links morgana!
What I would like to do is get the bus down to Manchester, spend a few hours before seeing the show and then jumping on an overnight bus back. The problem is the isn’t a bus leaving soon after the show, so I will have to hang around longer than I want to.
Gotcha. Too bad the timing doesn’t work out better. I sometimes have to decide if going to Saskatoon for a show is worth it. If I should drive back after the show or stay overnight. I have done both. Unfortunately I just can’t manage work week shows anymore and you never know what the highway will be like in the winter. Decisions decisions…
there are 2 good reasons why I can’t drive back that night
1) I don’t have a car
2) I can’t drive
And there is a big reason I can’t take a bus or train there, they don’t exist.
I got a bus from Saskatoon too Regina :p
but I agree, it is not the best
It doesn’t exist anymore! Our stupid fricken govt did away with it!!

There are some private companies trying to take over but nothing has really worked yet.
I had heard it was on the cards, but I didn’t know it had happened yet.
We used to have a train station here years ago as well. People are forced to drive or bum rides or hitchhike to get anywhere.
It makes you wonder what the people in charge were thinking. Hasn’t there been enough lives lost while hitchhiking in Canada?
It’s ridiculous. There are some regions that it affects profoundly.

I have watched a few documentaries on the subject* from the likes of the BBC and CBC and I often find myself wondering what it would take to fund community transport schemes.
*not trying to claim expertise, just saying it’s a subject I have paid attention to
I keep hoping someone will come up with a good way to fill the void.
We should come up with a business plan for a non-profit bus service and try to get it funded by one of those rich folks.
I bid you all goodnight, I look forward to your playlist tomorrow DBS
The playlist tomorrow is a continuation of our Stream of Consciousness playlist.
Night all!
