“Mountains” is a song about wholeheartedly pursuing your passions, while straddling the fragile line between ambition and humility. Everybody wants to be successful, and sometimes we go to great lengths to achieve the success that we so desperately desire. However, it’s important to remember to keep our egos in check. We must be kind to each other and to ourselves. It’s easy to let your goals and aspirations consume you to the point where it brings you and everyone else around you down. “Mountains” is about never giving up, whilst withstanding the pressure to compromise who we are in order to be successful.
“Guilt Trip” is a song about regret and isolation – a cautionary tale about what happens when you let trivial things get between you and the people you care about, only realizing once it’s too late to make amends. It’s about that feeling of not being able to say that certain something to a certain someone before it’s too late and then having that weigh heavily upon yourself thinking… “I could have done this differently.”
Hello, how was your weekend?
God. Fairly quiet, no shows.
And good morning.
God?
Friggin’ typo. Didn’t look again…
Out. Unsurprisingly, back later.
Hello hello! My weekend did not involve a deity, but it was pretty productive, so I’ll take it!
Good morning!
New speakers and a stylus for the turntable was pretty much my weekend.
I decided to watch an episode of Murdoch Mysteries last night and six episodes later I went to sleep
evidently, Critch is on q this morning. Going to do an impersonation of Tom Power and talk 22 Minutes
NEW SPEAKERS!!! (A new stylus is excellent, but speakers!)
Amusing: I just got a 405 — not allowed, but a back arrow got me the site, with my (precious) comment on it. Huh.
Yeah. The amp and turntable are in the basement, the new Bose 201s are mounted in the living room and wired to the B channel.
I’m the happy owner of a pair of Bose 301s. Great sound, even if not quite complete; bass has to be upped a little. But lovely response and “voice”.
Oooh I want new speakers and stylus too! One day perhaps.
I had a busy weekend with music on Friday night, play rehearsal and potluck party on Saturday and photography workshop on Sunday. I sadly missed the Mo Kenney/Lindi Ortega/Megan Nash show Saturday as it was sold out by the time I figured out I could make it there. Oh what I must sacrifice to be a star on stage! (said tongue in cheek)
I noticed the bass issue…
Russ, I’d say ‘add a subwoofer’. Of course, your current amp’s got to be able to drive it also.
The speaker locations, volume, and the equalizer produce nice sound – Yort is happy.
Fair enough. I also get fine sound thanks to a small equaliser bought cheap and second-hand, years ago. Amazing how splitting the sound into 5 bands (rather than only bass and treble) lets you tailor it.
True dat.
I can only afford the artificial dat
I insist on using analog DATs.
not the free range DATs?
Dat so funny!
I had the most exciting weekend of all; studying for grade 11 finals with my daughter!!
It was da bomb!
Has anyone heard of this musician?
https://saltwaterhank.bandcamp.com/releases
I have been asked to host a house concert in June for him.
He also play in a band called Black Spruce Bog based out of Prince George …… anyone?
Suki and I are going to drag each other around the block now.
Hi Morgana, I can’t say I have heard of him, sorry.
How are your two girls?
Hi Morgana. I can’t say I have heard of him either but it sounds like fun!
Enjoy your drag.
I’m a third person not familiar with Salt Water Hank.
Enjoy your drag around the block!
Today was more like a walk. Yesterday was a drag; physically and emotionally.
Suki is vey hard to convince to eat.
The teenager eats through my grocery budget with great speed.
I will have to think long and hard about hosting a show.
I have to get my feet back under me very first. How that is going to happen is still a mystery but plugging along I am.
Definitely keep plugging away, Morgana!
