This is episode 8 of The Wild Raccoon Podcast for the month of May 2018. In this months edition, we celebrate Asian Heritage Month by focusing on some of Canadas Asian musicians. From the likes of Kid Koala and Emm Gryner to Dirty Beaches. Speaking of Dirty Beaches.
What did we get wrong? What did we get right?(make something up if you have to) Who did we miss? Are there any Indigenous artists that you would like to see (hear?) featured on next month’s episode? Let us know in the comments below.
Gooooood morning!
Hello hello!
hello
Good morning!
A show tonight at Targ; sounds good to me: http://www.houseoftarg.com/concert-listings-events/league-of-wolves-ex-sheepdogs-more
Great podcast as always!
Also, WR, I know I said your cousin could crash at my place “for a few days” while he looked for a job, but it’s been, like, 2 months now, and all he does is loaf around and tear up my garbage. Whenver i try to talk to him about it he just chitters at me and waddles away. Can you please tell him if he’s not out by Saturday I’m calling an exterminator? Thanks.
I’m excited for the podcast, I’m going to listen to it this afternoon! I don’t think this is something that you “got wrong” necessarily, but Scary Bear Soundtrack is another Canadian Indie band of Asian descent.
Indigenous artists: Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Jeremy Dutcher are a couple I have become aware of in the last couple months. Joey Stylez and Kinnie Starr have new tracks out. Tanya Tagaq and The Jerry Cans are favs.
No Yamantaka//Sonic Titan?
@DBS & Janet, He had to save something for next years Asian Heritage podcast
Ha! Okay
@Loozr, I would send you a Raccoon to Human translator (patent pending) but we only have the one and in all honesty we have no idea how it works (it’s JFM), Have you tried asking if he wants to start a podcast?
Did everyone go home or is the podcast just that bad?
Or they are listening and can’t comment or they will lose their spot.
I enjoyed it.
I hadn’t thought of that
Of course you didn’t. Your brain automatically thinks it is something you did. It’s not…usually. 😉
NICE finish with Bounce.
It was the penultimate track but got pushed back
but who doesn’t like Brasstranaught
Jill Barber is coming to Regina in October. Woot!
I hear she’s a good singer (insert your own Grant insult here)
I would send chocolate for her but how much would I have to send for her to get 1 bar?
I’m seeing brother Barber this Thursday. The Matthew one.
@BfO, Please tell him I said Hi
My son just gave me a truckload of chocolate for Mother’s Day, it should be safe but you never know. Oh right she isn’t coming until October. Hmmm….
Garf, a little background: Where did you see him, what name did you give, does he know you from R3, prior?
@BfO, Just mention the guy that saw him and Jill in London (UK and ON) and gave him the cookies for Grant (that he ate)
