How are you, Our Basement?
Sitting on the edge of the bed alone, I was contemplating. The Bay of Fundy gleamed through the window in front of me, illuminated by an early morning light that gives a golden hue to all that it touches.
As the view of this landscape constantly changed, it also remained the same. It’s this duplicity we face when our lives take new directions, and conflicting thoughts become a challenge to be defeated. Though we remain the same, we continue to change. Memories are with us, and the future is ahead of us too.
Surrounded and encouraged by loving and caring friends in Port Greville, Nova Scotia, we played these chords and sang these words together. My forthcoming Seaview EP wouldn’t have been possible without the help of two of the most dedicated bands in the Canadian indie scene – WHOOP-Szo and Construction & Destruction. Simple folk tunes grew into powerful grunge pop tracks, styled after the early nineties sounds that I have always been a purveyor of. The four tracks travel with me as I navigate my life, with nature guiding my thoughts helping me express my journey of heartache and joy.
Innes Wilson
Howdy!
I liked Innes Wilson’s track. It reminds me of something but I am not sure what yet.
All by myself…
Hello
Hi Garf. How ya doin?
How do you say the name “Innes”?
Anyone ever been to Port Greville? It’s on a stretch of road in a part of NS that you only go on purpose – it’s not on the way to anywhere else. You wouldn’t just happen upon it. Isolated is one way to put it. Very nice area though.
I’m good DBS if a little tired. I decided to repair my R3 lanyard today (no that didn’t make me tired)
How is life in the city that rhymes with fun?
@ft, I would pronounce it inn-ess like Neil Innes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Innes
As Carolyn Mark says “It’s not the hole you think it is”. My life is still busy here and I am still lacking money but it’s a good life.
No I have never been to Port Greville. There are many places I have not been but I would like to see them all. I would also say it inn-ess.
I really like Regina (the city, but the Mexican we both know isn’t bad either)
I grew up not far from Port Greville, as the crow flies, but I’ve only ever passed through maybe once or twice. Parsboro nearby is the closest thing to a town in the area.
Thanks for the pronunciation tips. I didn’t mind his song, and listened to a few more on bandcamp by him.
They are both quite regal. Ha!
I know how that goes Tom. People still come up with towns in Saskatchewan that I haven’t heard of before even. Unless it’s on the highway on the way somewhere else, you just don’t see it.
But I thought you could see for ever in Saskatchewan
or did Corner Gas lie to me!?
Ha! Maybe a little.
I only have 1 release for this week, feel free to shout at me if you know of any
g’night
