KEN mode – Loved
This is quintessential KEN MODE, possibly the truest distillation of their mind and their mission to date. From the squealing feedback that bursts into manic energy on opener Doesn’t Feel Pain Like He Should, this is a record akin to an aural panic attack, anxiety made manifest. Fractured guitars needle and jar atop Scott Hamilton’s guttural bass buzzsaw, Jesse Matthewson’s caustic, vitriolic howl doing battle with Shane Matthewson’s clattering, staccato drum attack.(Distorted Sound Magazine)

(Hi Morgana)
was my snoring too loud?
ooh, I’ll give a listen to this new Ken Mode – apparently my friend played on this album. I think she said she played some sax on it which I had no idea she knew how to play but apparently that used to be her numero-uno instrument. I’ve never really listened to this band before, aside from a song or two so I’ll give this a go. A certain former R3 bloggist (theRadiodead) says she really likes this band. We agree on some musical acts but certainly not all but I do admire her sense of taste. Anyway. Have a good one!
hello friends. my two weeks of screen free life had me missing you terribly but Ken almost scared me away!
I am on very limited exposure now so I will check back in a few hours.
Welcome back morgana, did the time away from screens help at all?
I enjoy some Ken Mode if I am in the right mood for it and in small doses. It something that should be played loud.
Welcome back morgana. Glad you can spend some time here again.
I think morgana remembered how insane we are and decided that she needed another 2 weeks off line
I just checked my bus tickets to see Neko Case play in November to fin out I would be there too early by about 2 weeks
at least it only cost me £5.81 ($9.81) to correct the situation
Yikes! Glad you checked!
The kind of crazy here agrees with me so no, that is not why I was away.
I had Suki back at the vet. The last few weeks have been scary. We have been managing her congestive heart failure successfully for several years but the terrible air quality we had for so long just about took her from us. Slowly on the mend now. I am planning a layered cake for her 15th birthday on September 9th; a soft dog food of lamb she likes with pieces of beef Rollover in it layered with salmon skin between and topped with whipped salmon puree.
please excuse the language but
you just scared me fucking shitless, I thought something had happened to her
September 9th you say, I will mail something
Sorry, she has been through a lot. She is very tired as am I from worry, spending hours holding her upright so she could breath and nights of getting up with her and lots of medications but on the mend slowly.
give her a hug, or a scratch for me
will do.
i’ll check in tomorrow too.
Awwww. Hope she enjoys that cake.
