hi Our Basement,
In 2016, I met producer Kieran Adams (DIANA, Vibrant Matter) through a group of friends who frequently congregated at Toronto’s tiny but mighty gathering place and venue, the Holy Oak – RIP. Over the following year and a half, we worked away at a batch of my new songs that delve into the realms of pop and electronic minimalism. The result is my forthcoming Polarity EP – an exploration of the extremes of love and growing up.
“Strange Love” is about those moments when someone special unexpectedly enters your life, the way that new love can look and feel different than what you expected. Somewhere along the way, you come to realize that it was actually what you needed all along.
Polarity marks a significant departure from my upbringing on Toronto’s Ward’s Island – a hometown steeped in legacies of art and activism. I’ve released previous albums that include collaborations with Michael Timmins of Cowboy Junkies and my longtime mentor, cellist and singer Anne Bourne. I’ve toured as a backup singer with acts like The Weather Station and Bruce Peninsula. But I’ve always been pop music devoutee. I love its freedom and lightness, and regard it as the most perfect expression of songwriting.
Thank you for listening! Share it with a friend, if you feel so inclined, and stay tuned for more Polarity very soon.

Good day! Fall in Ottawa. Grey, coolish drizzly, and street reconstruction continues… (The roller-compactor is the WORST!)
Hello
Good day!
As much as my street needs reconstruction, I don’t mind not having to deal with the noise and mess of it for a bit longer.
nothing like starting the day with a dentist appointment.
on to more exciting things … not really but I do seem to have a rather long to do list today.
Matthew Good is coming to Nelson and performing a solo show … anyone seen him solo? Opinions?
morgana, I actually prefer having a dental appointment early in the morning; expecting it all day is worse…
Mind, there’s “dental appointment” and “dental appointment”.
I prefer my dental appointments around noon, in case I sleep in
I wonder what an AI computer would make of my statement, two up.
I prefer all my appointments in the afternoon because I sleep 10-12 hours a night. Hard at working rewiring my brain?
It was kind of nice to go to an appointment that was easy. Just a cleaning and my teeth are perfect. One thing that is in ship shape is sure nice to hear about.
morg, 13:33: yeah thank the fates for small mercies, for small victories…
I have downloaded a public transit app for Vancouver. It is going to take me 1.5 hours to get to my eye doctors appointment. Never mind the return trip at rush hour (s)!! Yup, glad I don’t live in the big city any more.
Doubt I will be up to attending any live music on this trip so I am looking for some other fun that won’t over stimulate my poor brain …. suggestions?
I prefer to live in a small town and have everything and everyone come to me;
