Our Basement,
A lot of UNBLOOM songs deal with transition and the relationships that are lost or gained in those critical moments of moving forward. “Lost Myself” deals with identity loss during this transition and the ironic selflessness of erasing yourself to make a relationship stronger – which, as we all know, never works.
I definitely think that people will interpret the narrative of “Lost Myself” as a post-breakup anthem, but I also believe it can be a reclamation – a song that asks the tough questions, like, “I’m past this person, now what? How can I reclaim who I was?”
There’s something really beautiful about trying to reclaim your “lost self,” and I hope the listener can explore that component of the song. I have a music video coming out sometime in November that will sort of interrogate this side of the reclamation narrative. I’m really excited about it, and I think it will push the boundaries of music videos.
Sonically, I would call “Lost Myself” a return to my dance roots – akin to some of the songs on my This Could Be Everything / This Could Be Nothing EP that was released last summer. However, “Lost Myself” incorporates my singing more prominently, similar to my last two singles “I Followed” and “Chances.”
“Lost Myself” is an amalgamation of my body of work so far and a synthesis of who I’m becoming as an artist.
Thank you for listening! I hope that “Lost Myself” resonates with you.

Off cycling. Purely for exercise (as in: not getting anything). 0-1 of the Celsius variety. Later!
It is meant to be a balmy 13 here today
We’re not supposed to go over 9. Three right now. Still a bit of gardening down and digging in narcissussussess. Suzz.
It is going to 13 today here as well. The sun is out and it’s lovely. This fall weather I enjoy.
