1)Would you like to introduce yourself?
We are a four-piece indie rock band from London, Ontario. Addison Johnson is our singer and guitarist, Nolan Peake is our bassist, Chris Hoekstra is our Guitarist and James Wiseman is our drummer.
2)When and why did you start playing?
We started playing as a band in late 2016. Started off as a band supporting Addisons solo stuff but then turned into a collective and we started to write more songs together and that’s how we got here.
3)What is your favourite part of this line of work? Your least favourite? Why?
We love the energy from live shows. It is what makes this job so entertaining to connect with other people who we don’t know through music is just a beautiful thing! Least favourite would probably be the waiting between releasing content. As soon as we write a new song we want it released as soon as possible!
4)Is there a hidden meaning in Lost In Japan?
There is! We like to keep it a secret so the magic is still there. we can tell you one thing though. It’s not inspired from the Shawn Mendes song.
5)How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
Just continue to play. No point calling anyone out. People make mistakes.
6)Which of your tracks would you recommend for any new listeners?
Personally, our favourite tracks off the new record is Orpheus, Never was you, Passing through and For Your Heart. Those songs we feel capture best what we are as a band!
7)If you were given the power to do so, which overused interview question would you have banned?
Haha, good question! Probably where did the name come from.
8)And, most impotently, what is your favourite type of cookie?
Oreos all the way.
Good morning!
Well, let me tell you, a gasoline-hydraulic log splitter really does the job! I split close to a full cord in perhaps 3 hours. (Of course, it’s the picking up, carrying and stacking that’s the real work.)
What, am I not on the wood-splitting blog?
Ah the good old days, I used to heat with wood, split about 5 cord a year. I only used a splitter once though.
Made for a long hard weekend but I could get the years wood split in one weekend using the splitter.
The rest of the time it was just with an axe. I’d go out for an hour or two most days in the winter to get the next winters wood split.
It’s starting to sound like the wood splitting blog.
Good morning everyone! … A buddy and I went out recently and got half a cord and we each took half. I still need to split it though.
Isn’t there a proverb about cutting your own wood so it will heat you twice?
Hello
Garf, I like that. A pre-splitter truism.
Scott, my thing was that it’s mostly beech, large rounds (12, 18″, 20″) which haven’t been wanting to dry (moist environment). It’s “bury-your-axe” wood, marginally splittable. Yesterday, I split something between a short and a long cord, including maple. And given the splitter was borrowed free… (I’ll pitch in with gasoline.)
A great machine though, easy to work and sparing of the gas.
Tying together wood and music, my next band’s name is marginal split. Probably scripted marg!nal spl!t
if you have an allergy to chopping fire wood would it be call corditus?
Or you may be axially challenged.
if you slip and cut a prince in half, would that be splitting heirs?
Oh my, you are a funny bunch here today!
For many years my after school wind down activity was splitting firewood.
I have never heard of Lost in Japan. I have done no research but this sounds like a band that is not newly formed. Nothing outrageously new or intriguing about their sound but I am listening and enjoying so far.
Looks like we have a few new members for the cookie club too! I do recall seeing an oreo type cookie recipe on line once ….
If I get to meet Miss Case next week I will ask her what her favourite cookie is and use that for the next podcast recipe
Hi Morgana. how was your trip?
@ GarfieldUK
Seriously! Turns shades of green;) You are going to have one grand evening!
Any guesses on what her favourite cookie is?
The trip was good. Also very tiring.
The eye doctor says I have extreme binocular vision. I should be receiving a package of equipment for doing eye exercises at home shortly. I can expect they will be very hard and exhausting at first. Sounds like my day to day life at this point so I am going to have a crack at it.
I have a lazy left eye (some think it has spread) which can lead to me having trouble focusing. If I am really tired while watching TV I will often close my left eye without noticing.
maybe we can take on this “vestibular weight lifting” program together!
I’ll let you do it first
Such a gentleman!
that’s not how you spell lazy coward
I’m just back from a walk, next I’m going to fire up the halloween playlist. It is going to be great entertainment as I prepare the food and house for the creeping creepers. Chop chop, time for me to get busy!
