Hey Our Basement!
“Wait For You” was written in the months following our return from opening Tom Odell’s “No Bad Days” tour in Europe. There’s a real vulnerability in coming home from a huge tour and not knowing what the future has in store. Writing the song was a sort of therapy that helped us come to terms with how we were feeling, and turning that into inspiration and excitement for what’s to come. The energy that emanates from a packed venue is exhilarating, and the whole tour we wished for something simple to sing at the top of our lungs that could be shouted back, no matter the language barrier.
We knew right away, as soon as the chorus to “Wait For You” came together, who it was meant for.
While driving home from a show one eerie night this past summer, we asked Devon to throw on the Drive soundtrack to help set the mood. Instead, he mistakenly (or with clairvoyance) put on the song “Drive” by Cars. Right away we knew that we had to try recording the song with a dreamy, synthwave inspired feel.
Our friend Kirty agreed to jump onboard and instantly brought “Drive” to life, singing lead on the second verse and harmonies on the choruses.
Jane’s Party
Good morning. Cold out. Snow on ground, it’s going nowhere for now.
Howdy. It warmed up again here. We had the cold and snow last week. The snow didn’t disappear completely but some of it melted.
Hello, it has been overcast here all day
It is cold up here in the mountains. Totally overcast with low hanging snow clouds. I got myself a new pair of ice grippers for my boots yesterday.
@darbar thanks for making it so that I can add to the instrumental play list you started a while back. I am having issues with Spotify where it won’t allow me to search but once I overcome that I have a number of songs in mind to add.
hi Morgana
Retreat! I was trying for a walk but the sleet won.
that sleet is persistent
Hi GarfieldUK:)
How goes life across the pond there?
Not too bad, I finished another pair of shoes today (I’ll post images later)
Which artist is going to receive this pair?
these ones have no home yet, they are just practice. I will gift them when I find someone that they fit
I have been thinking about asking ABC’s shoe size so I could send her a pair, but it feels a little too creepy to ask
its like you are Cinderella’s middle man.
she is a 9 narrow.
I am going into a Skype call so back later
These are the ones I have so far (the bottom right pair in blue are DBS’s)
that might not work
none of them are perfect but they are fun to do
Very cool shoes Garf!
I enjoyed your additions to the instrumental playlist morgana. I was thinking I probably began it on the old R3 site, adding songs when I heard them play on R3 and brought it over to Spotify. There are so many tracks I could add to it now.
I added some from this months podcast
Thanks! I had made the playlist collaborative so you can add them yourself if you like.

I decided it was rude of me to expect you to add them so I added some myself.
I might* plunder this list if/when WR has another instrumental episode
*and by might, I mean probably will
Not rude. It is polite to check before adding. I am just letting you know, feel free to add and feel free to use the tracks. 🙂
OK, Vision Therapy Skype session is done. Apparently I have extreme binocular vision and these exercises are going to fix me up.
I needed a rest after.
I sure hope this is what is going to get me out of this 13 month long hiatus from my life.
I have more ideas of songs to add to the playlist, I may have to delete Spotify and reinstall in first though.
Just what I want to do …
I hope you get better soon morgana
Oh morgana, I sure hope so too! It’s been such a long haul for you.
Darn buggy Spotify too.
@garfielduk, oh you are having fun with shoes! That is cool.
I have another pair of the gold shoes in a size 7 but they are destined for a Miss R Barton in Ottawa
