Our Basement,
“I’ll buy the first thing I come across; But what good is it if you’re long gone.”
Sometimes the only art or images we see while going about our daily lives are those trying to sell us something. Walking around Toronto, you feel the oversaturation of advertisement that everyone is inundated with on a daily basis. There’s nothing wrong with selling things, but it can be oppressive. We need to find a better balance between ads and public art – for art’s sake.
Over the span of two twelve-hour days, Ian Gomes produced “Marketing” and four more new songs of ours at Union Sound Company. This is our first single from our forthcoming EP, out this Spring.
Thanks for taking the time to check out “Marketing.”

Good morning. Cool idea Garf!
Hello,
I am back!!
Yay! Welcome back Scott!
Hi Scott
Hi Garf,
Did I miss anything exciting?
I think the most exciting thing you missed was the online Said the Whale listening party we had a couple of Fridays ago over discord
I saw something about that. How did it go? Did you generate the interest that you thought you would? It’s Said The Whale, so I’m sure the music was up to snuff.
They were just looking for people to have in-house listening parties and Morgana thought to ask if we could have an online version.
I was more worried about getting it to work than how many people turned up. Having said that their were 5 of us plus Tyler.
As for the album, it was amazing.
I have mentioned it to a couple of PR people that handle CanCon artists so we might have another go soon.
did I scare everyone away again?
I will take that as a yes
I was working away. The listening party was great. I wish we had gotten a few more people there but if we find the right time to do it, it might help.
I still like the Sunday afternoon/evening time slot, less chance of people being at work
We can certainly give that a try.
Yes, Sunday afternoon would normally work for me.
