Valentine’s Day is coming soon, so this week’s playlist is all about love. Love comes in many forms so sometimes just like Hawksley Workman you have to ask “Is this what you call love?” Maybe the playlist will help us figure that question out.
Valentine’s Day is an opportunity for people in Canada to tell somebody that they love them in a romantic way. It falls on February 14, the name day of two saints, St Valentine of Rome and St Valentine of Terni. In pre-Christian times, the middle of February was a time of pagan fertility festivals in Europe and allegedly the time when birds chose a mate. (Time and Date)
Check out this video below from History to learn more and then listen to the playlist to celebrate Valentine’s Canadian Indie style.
Good morning! I scheduled this to post earlier but forgot to push the publish button. Oops.
Good Morning
I’m looking forward to the music school’s Music & Munchies tonight.
That sounds fun Scott!
My list of things breaking down is growing.
-Sewer backed up
-power steering failed
-water heater leaked
-furnace short cycling
-phone died
Throw in my son’s car not starting and my dead bolt on the front door not working properly as more annoyances in my life these days. Sigh…
That doesn’t sound like fun at all.
Check your furnace filter. If it is dirty, it doesn’t let the air thru fast enough and the furnace overheats shuts down and starts over when it cools down enough. (goes into high limit)
The rest I can’t help with sorry.
Thanks Scott. It also went down to -40 or so last night. I have a very old furnace with roof vent. I think it iced up but seems to be doing longer cycles now. The filter was changed recently but I did check it to be sure. I am searching through furnace info now, repairs, replacement programs etc.
I will see if my car starts in a bit and deal with the phone. I cancelled my dentist appointment today. I will call and book the water heater rental company to do a check up. The sewer line was cleared. My power steering is fixed and works great! This too shall pass!
Sounds like you have things under control.
Stuff always seems to break on the coldest days of the year.
I guess inanimate things don’t like the cold any more than we do.
-40 is cold!! I’m glad its missed me so far this year.
It’s ridiculously cold!
The furnace is definitely in longer cycles now. This has to be the first time I have timed furnace cycles.
That’s quite a list up there darbar! If ever there was a limit after which you have a “right to bitch”…
I am hoping it doesn’t last much longer. It is reminding me of my 2013 which was a terrible year for me. So far my spirits are staying up and I am brushing this shit off but it better quit!
-40 weather doesn’t help at all!!!!
Your over your max of three @darbar!
Thanks for remembering that “publish” button. I appreciate the playlist.
Hi morgana! I was really hoping nothing else would happen. I was wrong. Ha!
Thanks for checking out the playlist. 😀
One thing at a time and the next thing you know you will be ahead of the game again!
In looking at what is happening in Vancouver while I am there I noticed a guided meditation in the planetarium. Unfortunately it is after I leave. Something that looks fun but certainly not as good for my brain is Ashley McIssac at St James Hall.
The meditation would be much better for your brain I am sure. Too bad the timing didn’t work.
I am off to see if I can get this phone working or get a replacement. Ciao!
Good luck!
They are working on the phone. I had to leave it to drive my kid to work and wait for a delivery of his medical supplies. I wonder if he will expect this service after he moves out as well. It was too cold for me to make him take the bus today.
After the delivery gets here I will go back and check on the phone. It doesn’t look good. I may be using my old phone for a few weeks.
My phone works!
