Easter is the theme of the playlist this week but as often happens it is a pretty loose interpretation. The beginning tracks are about Good in honour of Good Friday and then some songs about faith and religion. The playlist takes a dark turn with some songs about dying and funerals representing Jesus dying on the cross. But he doesn’t stay dead for Christ has risen indeed and there are songs of resurrection and coming back to life.
It is a playlist not to be taken literally and I don’t mean any sacrilege. It is just a group of some really good Canadian Indie music for us to listen to. I hope you enjoy and have a Happy Easter!
Finally got this to post!
Why is it not embedding the playlist now? Ugh…
Edit: It looks like it is working now.
Oh, good!
Hello BenoÎt. Sorry for the delay.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter weekend. Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers and listen to the music.
Our flowers… um, or rather, our budding plants are wet! Really wet. That said, I think we’re getting spared most of the rain: it’s passing just a bit North of here.
April showers is the mode we are in.
A good day to stay in and listen to music.
And cuddle my kid who is turning 18 today.
It is sunny and 23C here today! The crocus are out but you have to go find those out of the city generally. It is a sure sign of spring for photographers around here.
Liz and I will be going to Tim Baker in June, she was in charge of ordering the tickets for this show. I noticed there is a redemption code for downloading the album. I asked her to send me my code. Now I will see if I can make it all work …
Good luck morgana!
Tim Baker is skipping the prairies it seems. Boo…
I’m in a “competition” to get a ticket for a Half Moon Run secret small show in St-Eustache, just North of Montreal, in June. In order to try and outfinesse scalper-reseller-bots, they have this rigmarole involving giving them a cellphone number so they can phone you a code number, which you can then input in your still-live page, thus “proving” you’re not a bot.
Problem: I don’t have a cellphone. Anyway, I got around that (at Support’s suggestion) with my sister’s number, otherwise, it seems they couldn’t phone a landline, which I’ve yet to understand.
I’ll see if I have a ticket around the 22nd or 3rd…
Coolio, I know how the album on my computer … later I’ll get it onto my phone by doing the syncing thing I guess.
@B from O I hope you are able to get yourself a ticket to Half Moon Run. You certainly are putting the effort in, jumping through all their hoops.
Gratz morgana!
Good luck BenoÎt! They just have something set up to text not call. Hope the work around gets you a ticket. I would love to go to that show.
@darbar that does suck. I was hoping we would be seeing him at The Imperial but it sold out so it has been moved to the Commodore. Great room just not as intimate
Hawksley skipped the west coast so I am glad I was able to make it to Calgary. Oh, and that my kid deemed it a good birthday experience. When my girl was getting her CD signed I asked him when he was going to come back to Nelson. He remembered when the last time he was here, that it was with the Mounties and the name of the venue. I was pretty impressed.
Shoot, the download is for the single not the album.
Hmmm, the promo says you get the album.
Hmm maybe try again tomorrow. See if they worked out a glitch.
I am so glad she enjoyed the show. Hawksley is a pretty cool dude.
Ah, album download is available AFTER April 19th.
kind of odd and certainly confusing that they let you have a single prior to the date though.
I hope I have not blown it by downloading the single and now the program won’t let me download the album.
All will be revealed tomorrow.
I unhopefully googled easter playlist and saw 30 church sets before coming across this, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks! Also, 75 songs??? How did you focus long enough to compile this?
