May 12th is Mother’s Day so that is what our playlist is about this week. We start out in a City With No Children, Before the Children Came Along. Then we discover I am Going to Have a Child but some were Born Yesterday so we Welcome them into the world and declare we will do our Level Best for them. Such Baby Sunshine and Babes In The Wood they are. We shall sing them some Lullabies and Rock (Me Now) to sleep. For You Are My Sunshine and mother’s do it All For You my child. We shall Take Care of Each Other as some wonder Who Do We Care For? Well, even Bad Boys Need Love Too. For Love and Your Mother’s Sake just let her look after you because she just wants to be a Good Mother.
We will sing many songs for Mothers and Mamas. And the Children and Kids are thankful, as am I even though I’m Not A Kid Anymore. Some Kids just Don’t Get It that Single Mothers are on duty 24/7. Hopefully they learn to be grateful for all they do for them and wish them a…
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
Thanks for the playlist Dar.
I hope you get to enjoy your mothers day!
Hello
I am working on Mondays radio show and WRP (what idiot thought they should be on the same day?)
@ Garf
I don’t know, not me.
Not me either but it sounds like something I would do.
Thanks Scott. I will do my best to enjoy the day! My play is on this weekend and then John Fogerty Sunday night. Some rest and relaxation in there would be good.
Sounds like a busy weekend, but a good kind of busy. Have fun!
That is what I usually say “but a good kind of busy”. 😀
Good day! For me, the morning entailed getting that prospective ‘new’ car over to my garage for an inspection. Yesterday was grey and threatening rain. Today: RAINING! Or at least it was for the half-hour I was cycling home…
And I’ll have to do the same four steps in reverse come 4 o’clock.
I read about your vehicle problems. Frustrating! I hope it stops raining for the return trip.
Dar, no sweat! My choice, the cycling, I could take cabs, but that wouldn’t keep me in shape. Also, I can put up with a little (a lot) getting wet, it’s not the first time, etc. But thanks. And yes, I think most of the rain has passed.
This car is going to be fun to drive. Zippy it is. The thing is, its hairtrigger clutch pedal AND brake pedal make it ‘interesting’ for me to drive without bucking it or stalling it — the clutch on my RSX is stiff, high and slippy, and the brake pedal also harder (brakes totally good). So this new one is impossibly soft and responsive, not used to that!
It will take a bit of adjustment but I am sure you will get used to it. I miss driving standards. So much more fun!
I have the playlist for the show at least and some of the tracks for the podcast (the theme of which will be explicit lyrics*)
*great idea for the first episode that has a possible home on a radio station
Sounds like fun!
I have finally arranged to head back to the radio station to sit in on another show on the 21st. Hopefully I can get back on track with that.
Re “explicit lyrics”, The Tragically Hip (Gord Downie) had several songs where the word ‘fuck’ appears, but used so naturally that many times (not always), radio wouldn’t censor it.
I have added a Hip track, thanks for the suggestion
Good day folks! I have been up for a few hours but because we have not had any rain and it is supposed to go up to 27 today I was out watering the garden. I am slow but I did get it all wet eventually.
@GarfieldUK explicit lyrics hey … nothing like grabbing the audiences attention right from the top. Here is a challenge; find some explicit French and Inuit or other Indigenous dialect swears … have fun with it!
B form O RAIN! I am jealous. Vehicles are very useful but overused. Yay for bikes.
@darbar your good kind of busy is inspiring! Enjoy your Mothers Day.
BTW I love the write up for todays post. You had some fun with that one:) I am going to see if I can convince my computer to play the playlist now. You know how when one thing breaks then more go at the same time no matter what your bank account looks like …. sigh.
Oh, I don’t know if you saw my post yesterday but my kiddo accepted a position with Katimavik. Our heads are spinning but we are also excited.
I read that this morning. Congrats! Katimavik is a wonderful thing. An experience that stayed with me my whole life.
I cheated a bit on the blog post because of that busy thing. I had done a very similar thing last year and just updated it. :p
Yesterday was a not such a good busy. I spent 4 hours or so at the hospital with my sister as she got her port for chemo put in. Just another step on her journey.
The port makes it so much easier to do treatments. What’s one more scar really. It is a journey indeed. She is lucky to have you walking it with her.
My son had a port for a few years when he was younger and I was trained to access it. I told Shannon to let them know about that. Might save a trip to the treatment clinic here and there. My mother is helping her lots and one of my brothers has been good support so far too. She needs all the support we can give her these days!
morgana 10:44: we had some rain overnight, and then again today, a couple of good soakers. It’s a mild rain, but wetting…
Now things are clearing up, with wind.
Geez, after reading dar, my comment seems totally unimportant….
No worries BenoIt. We got a bit of rain today as well. We also really need it.
I really enjoyed the tunes today. Yay for Mom’s!
Have a great weekend everyone.
