It’s Release Radar playlist time! Release Radar are playlists that let you know what is new each month. We have a Spotify Release Radar playlist and a YouTube new video release playlist to help you to discover new music. Some of the videos in the YouTube playlist can also be found on the Spotify playlist but the playlists are very different and you should check them both out.
The YouTube playlist has over 30 new uploads. There are new releases, lyric videos and live videos, and some of the videos we featured here at OurBasement. There is lots to watch and discover in the playlist so I encourage you to check it out.
The Spotify Release Radar playlist has over 100 songs on it this month. The tracks are new releases with some being teasers for upcoming albums, some just released albums and a couple remixes. There are many tracks from artists that have been featured here on OurBasement. This month I was most excited about the songs from Lightning Dust, Girlfriend Material, Walrus, Bruce Cockburn and new discovery Badge Époque Ensemble. If you want a shorter playlist, follow my DarBar’s Picks playlist which has my favourites from the last few weeks.
Skye Wallace, Begonia, Old Man Luedeke, Hollerado, New Swears and others all had more new tracks for us to enjoy this month as well. Keep them coming! Always great to hear new tracks from artists you enjoy.
The Saskatchewan artists with new tracks are League of Wolves, Kacy & Clayton, Zachary Lucky, Ponteix and The Dead South and videos by many Sask artists as well.
Enjoy the playlists!
Woot thanks for the playlists Dar.
OH, and Good Morning.
Good morning!
Thanks again for listening! 😀
Wait, what month is it?
Pressing play regardless. Let’s see if Spotify wants to work today …
Ha! Sorry I just saw that and corrected.
Sorry about sneaking in on your work in progress yesterday @darbar.
Sometimes when Spotify is being buggy I can click on “friends activity” and get some tunes.
I lucked out yesterday with your work in progress!
Mr Morgana had the van torn apart yesterday and was working on coolant lines replacement so we too are far from ready to go.
Getting stoked for sure though.
We head out on a three week road trip a few days after Kaslo so that is why I am making so much food.
hey you kaslo go-ers….
a couple of my friends are playing at the festival. show them a nice time 🙂
also, I AM SO JEALOUS ABOUT YOU GETTING TO SEE KHRUANGBIN.
@ft I was stoked for Khruangbin too until I listened to the full new album. I can imagine their groovier tunes floating out off the stage and over the lake but I have to say that about half of the album bores me. I have not watched any video footage to see if they are simply killer live. Fingers crossed.
Which bands do you have friends in? Why aren’t you coming too?
Tom has friends in The Dirty Catfish Brass Band. They are a lot of fun. I have not checked out Khruangbin’s new album yet but I am guessing I won’t find them boring and I am sure their set will be amazing. I am very much looking forward to Kaslo and meeting morgana in person.
@morgana – I think Scott may have had a sneak preview of the playlist as well. 😉
Oh and HeyJon appears to have listened to it yesterday as well. Ha!
The last six month or so of new releases is in my master playlist that I dump new tracks into. I then pull them out and reorder them monthly.

I just listened to Khruangbin’s, “This Is” on Spotify. I hope their set will be a good mix of old and new like that. The new album is too much modern psychedelic for me, I prefer the funk. Sorry about getting all fussy there. It will be fun. It will be great to meet you as well darbar!
I enjoyed a bunch of the ladies releases this month; Begonia, Jenn Grant, Little Scream and Skye Wallace.
I seem to be quite tired this afternoon so I think it is vestibular exercises then a nap for me.
Have a great weekend folks.
I too enjoyed those artists music. Good stuff!
I do like the sounds of modern psychedelic. I will have to give the album a listen! Our tastes may be slightly different but I am glad we have some common ground too.
Have a good one!
