Our Basement,
Our new song, “Show Me,” grew out of a campfire argument with a group of Baby Boomers about the problem with our generation of millennials. Despite following all of their advice, we still landed flat. We lack financial security, health plans and pensions. As a result, we are waiting longer to have children, to settle down in any way. What we’re left with is an unstable, delayed adulthood.
We produced our new record (set for release on November 8th) with Brad Perry and Evan Hansen at The Recordery in Fredericton, NB. This is the second time we’ve worked together so we were able to avoid all of the first date jitters and speak openly with each other. We laid down the bed tracks simultaneously while in the same room, which really brought a live energy to the recording process. There were a couple of interruptions for babies to be born. Our drummer Zach had his second child, a son named Noah, and Evan had his third child, a son named Cooper.
“Show Me” took a complete 180 to what we had initially imagined. Sometimes those songs end up being your very best. We’re definitely proud of what we’ve accomplished here and hope you like what you hear!
Stay tuned for more new music from us very soon,
Kill Chicago
Good day!
Howdy!
Rainy days here.
Our days has turned rainy too. Fall.
Can’t complain, I can’t stand 32 feels like 40.
The system is working weird. Doesn’t post at first. Upon refreshing, has posted but the text ALSO remains in the text box. Weird.
I had that issue as well Benoit. Let’s see if it happens again.
Yup. Still an issue.
We needed rain but I think it can stop now.
howdy:)
we have had two days of rain and it is still overcast today.
we had amazing weather on our whole vacation so I can’t complain.
I have a one hour expected wait time for the call I just made! Wow.
In music news I have one show to look forward to in Nelson; Buffy Saint Marie at the Capitol Theatre.
I am not going to any small venue shows. It is just too hard on me. It is too bad as there are plenty of great musicians coming through town including Jill Barber.
When I am in Vancouver for my next eye dr appointment I will be going to the Orpheum Theatre to see Rufus Wainwright with the VSO. Yay for soft seat venues that I can sit in, close my eyes and listen. I’m looking forward to visiting with Liz for this show too.
Hi morgana!
I just saw that We Are The City and Tokyo Police Club will be playing Nelson soon and thought it would probably be too much for you at this time. Sure wish I could go to that one!
Still raining here today. I am glad you had some good weather for your travels!
*I think I better get my shit together and help Garf out with some posts. (And figure out why posting is being difficult these days)
morgana: I called the City about somethign, and the wait time was like that, 40 minutes, BUT: they offered the option of leaving your phone number. Genius! I was actually called back in 10 minutes.
And hello in general!
@darbar I saw that show listing too … and looked away; it would be great but too much for me at this time. Poop!
@B from O there was no option for a call back … I too really like that option, mostly because I do not have to listen to the canned music on the hold line.
I am off to the vampires for more blood work.
