Music festival season isn’t quite over yet! This week’s playlist is featuring Canadian artists that will be playing at Halifax Pop Explosion this year. It’s another festival I would love to go to some day.
HPX is a festival of live music discovery. For 27 years, they’ve been dedicated to helping music fans explore the local, national, and international scene, and discover their next favourite bands. The festival takes place in venues all over Halifax. This year, HPX happens October 23-26, 2019.
The Halifax Pop Explosion Conference is dedicated to bringing together industry professionals, artists, and fans from around the world to discuss current trends, topics, and issues in the music industry. The conference has attracted delegates from around the world, and has started discussions and shared insights on the most important and relevant advancements and issues facing the ever-changing landscape of the music industry. If you’re a live music fan, this highly curated, city-wide music takeover is for you.
This year some of the artists performing are …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Arkells, Diet Cig, DJ NDN, Ellisapie, Haviah Mighty, Japanese Breakfast, Jennah Barry, Kaia Kater, Mother Mother, Rich Aucoin, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Spencer Krug, Villages, Walrus and so many more.
Find out more about the festival at the HPX site.
Good morning!
Hello
Thanks for the playlist.
Hi Scott. Enjoy!
Hello, thank you DBS
A sidelight: I saw Kaia Kater grow up at the Black Sheep Inn. Her mum lived around there. And quietly, latterly, the banjo came on. She’s become quite good at it, singin’ and stage presence and everything.
I love watching artists grow and progress. Especially young local talent.
I am off to a Hollerado show tonight. They have had quite the journey. Good times!
