Hey Our Basement,
“Before It’s Over,” my first song release in twenty years, is about my approach to life these days. It is taken from my upcoming album, Volume 2, out February 7th.
When writing “Before It’s Over,” I tried to focus on where I want to be: living in the moment and appreciating things, people and situations while they are happening and present, while acknowledging the tension arising from the fact that all things must pass.
This track charts the journey of getting to that place of appreciation.
Before what’s over, exactly? This is for you to apply to your own life, anything from a moment to a friendship, from a love to a lifetime.
I’m excited to perform Volume 2 live and will be sharing more of the record (and upcoming dates) with you in the new year.
Thanks for listening,
Kid Lunch
Good day folks.
Hello strangers.
I’m back from Eastern Canada and the side trip to Vancouver for the vestibular doctor.
My family and I went to see Elisapie in Quebec in a sweet little church. Liz and I went to Rufus Wainwright while I was in Vancouver.
That is my musical update … how about you?
Welcome back Morgana!
Let’s see. Justin Rutledge/Charlotte Cornfield, Hollerado/Little Junior, Jeremy Dutcher with Regina Symphony Orchestra. That was 3 days in a row. I don’t think I have made it to any other shows but am looking forward to Lemon bucket Orkestra tomorrow night!
Nice! That would have been an exhausting three days.
I thoroughly enjoyed the shows I made it to but was also feeling the realities of being the wrong place at the wrong time; Lemon Bucket Orchestra played in Nelson while I was away and I seemed to be criss crossing the country in the opposite direction of Jeremy Dutcher which was terribly disappointing.
I am scheduled for a return to the Vancouver Dr in three months so I picked up tickets for Leif Vollebeck as well as Begonia; must have fun to look forward too!
That’s frustrating when timing doesn’t work out. Very nice shows to look forward to.
Our Winterruption Festival is at the end of January and artists were announced. Some good shows will be on. Weaves will be here and are the top of my list! Begonia will be at it but Leif Vollebekk is only doing the Saskatoon version of Winterruption it seems. Disappointed on that part.

So good to have a festival in the middle of winter; sanityfest!
I am caught up on enough that I can spend some time on birthday party planning. A poll and contacting the band office as well as bands on Side Door are the next tasks …
Nice tasks to do. Looking ahead to fun stuff is always good for the soul.
It is good stuff … but now another round of physio exercises.
Until tomorrow friends.
