Hello Our Basement,

A fair-weather love – someone who’s come and gone through the years. For me, that person returned to my life four years ago, time began again, and my forthcoming new record was born. Love You Always is a collection of six acoustic tracks which I cut to a tape machine in my parents’ empty, suburban home.

“Every Little Brunette” has been recorded dozens of times over the years. In the end, I found it was most honestly expressed as a one take. I set up two mics and my tape machine in the most intimate room of the house, and played. The take I’m sharing with you today is raw. It has my voice failing and buzzy strings, but it’s performed like reading a letter.

In the, Love You Always story, “Every Little Brunette” is the climax. After years of unsaid feelings, it is the confession – the release. I hope it speaks to anyone who’s kept their romantic feelings about another to themselves.
