Hi Our Basement,
I think about songs the same way I think about stories. The characters I imagine and the lives they live out typically wind up in one or the other, and “Archie” is one of them.
The song follows a young boy who has run away from home to join his outcast uncle, who lives and roams in an old van.
Through a series of vignettes, I take you through the boy’s realization of Archie’s life as a thief, the consequences that follow and the looming fear that it is too late to turn back.
I produced “Archie” with Steven Gibb at Lites Down in Montreal. Having previously recorded from my bedroom, this experience allowed me to control and craft my sound in ways I didn’t have access to before.
With these tools and Steven’s experience, I felt for the first time that I was able to accurately represent a song the way I intended.
Thanks for giving the song a listen,
Sasha Cay
Good morning.
Hello
Hello Folks,
How was everyone’s weekend?
Hi guys.
I had another busy weekend with Xmas parties, play rehearsals, radio show, errands and family visits. Busy but good! How was yours?
Sounds like fun,
Saturday night we had a Christmas party to go to.
Friday and Sunday I had recitals at the music school. Friday was the adults having a good time. & Sunday was the “official” school recital which they rent a church for.
Most of Saturday was spent dealing with the snow, which was ok because it meant I spent the day outside.
Sounds like you had a busy weekend as well!
Our weather has turned very cold here but not much snow yet.
We had snow Thursday and Friday, probably close to a foot.
It has rained all day today though.
We’re supposed to get colder and more snow Wednesday or Thursday.
That sounds like a recipe for a mess! We are getting super cold for a few days. Brrrrr
These days that is the norm.
We used to get cold in the fall and expect a January thaw and then back to the cold.
Now it swings above freezing to below freezing every few days.
