Hey, Our Basement,
My new single, “Joy,” taken from my upcoming second album, Engel (out April 3rd), isn’t about the experience of joy.
Instead, it is a promise to myself to keep looking for it.
Reading the lyrics back revealed to me that I consider this pretty hard work; I’d have to keep pushing the boundaries of my own spirituality, sexuality and relationships to find joy.
“Joy” encapsulates a particular feeling that only comes after conquering a major anxiety: both gooey and alert, it radiates from my stomach upwards.
I hope this song reminds you of that feeling and inspires you to continue chasing it.
Thank you for listening,
Scott Hardware
Scott here sounds a bit like Destroyer, in the low parts. (And good morning)
I can hear that.
Good morning 🙂
Good day from the mountain tops and valleys of BC’s interior.
I have cabin fever but I have an escapade planned at the end of the week so hopefully I can hold it together until then.
Hannah Epperson was a perfectly chill show over the weekend. She didn’t hit the stage until midnight but it was worth the long wait. she is so talented!
I quite enjoyed Scott’s Joy up there.
I’ll listen more … how about you?
