The playlist this week is full of new releases in the second month of the year. Those Canadian artists have been busy! We have both a Spotify Release Radar playlist and a YouTube new video release playlist to help you discover new music.
The YouTube playlist has over 50 new uploads this month. There are new releases, cover videos and live videos. The videos are usually pretty fun to check out and I encourage you to do so.
The Spotify Release Radar playlist has well over 150 songs on it this month. The tracks are all new releases with some being teasers for upcoming albums, some from just released albums or eps, and singles. There are also many tracks from artists that have been featured here on OurBasement and some I found through Exclaim. This month I was most excited about the songs from Sarah Harmer, Rose Cousins, Dizzy, Hawksley Workman and Sarah Slean, and so many others. Holy Fuck, KINLEY, We Are The City, Wolf Parade, U.S.Girls, Destroyer, Jessie Reyez and others all had more new tracks for us to enjoy this month as well. I am so proud of all the talented artists we have in Canada.
Enjoy the playlists! There is a lot to go through but so much new discoveries to be had.

I really enjoyed the ladies that opened this playlist, breezed past the twang, settled in with the mellow dudes and made note of the upbeat section that just wasn’t working with my yoga time so that I know where to start the list back up at. I am excited for so much on this list; Jerry Cans, Shred Kelly, Hawksley Workman, Carly Rae Jepsen and some locals like Small Town Artillery and Frazey Ford. This is enough playlist to last me all weekend! Thanks @darbar
Glad you found what you enjoy out of the playlist Morgana! There just is not enough time to completely sort the playlist to make smooth transitions but I get some loose sorting done. It gets looser as the playlist goes!
Next week will be a playlist full of the ladies in honour of International Women’s Day!
