Hi, Our Basement,
My happy, upbeat, funky song “Baby Won’t You Stay” is a high-energy throwback tune inspired by the soul sound of Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Twists of dirty blazing guitar riffs, cheeky lyrics and soulful vocals gives the tune a vintage feel.
“Baby Won’t You Stay” was written on Eleuthera, an Island in the Bahamas that translates to a feminine freedom in Greek. It’s about letting yourself indulge in the free and fun moments in life with someone you enjoy. Taking a little extra time to be present, feel good and let a little love in.
My hope is that this ditty has you moving and grooving in your home with your loved ones.
Brighter days are ahead and for now we’ve got to keep our spirits up with feel-good music.
My debut full-length album, Best Kind of Light, will be out on June 19, 2020.
Thank you for listening,
Jess Knights
Happy Monday!
Hi Dar,
How was the weekend? Did you get any riding in?
It was a good weekend but no I did not get any riding in. The wind has been ridiculous. I planned on it yesterday as it was calmer, but then I got busy doing my Polaris Music listening and didn’t get out there. I am going to tonight for sure!!!
How was your weekend?
My weekend was good! Busy!! We opened the pool and I started fixing things that were leaking / not working with the pool plumbing and irrigation system. I’m still working on both, but we can go swimming now, which is really good as it is quite warm and sunny here. The young folk were swimming yesterday as I worked. Maybe today I’ll get a chance to get wet.
That sounds fantastic! The swimming part, not the work to get it ready.
Also on my failed plans for the weekend was getting more work done on my house. I am not very good at getting things I don’t want to do done! Music is my escape from all things mundane to me.
Music is a great escape, I would recommend it.
My work day is complete, time to go put the top on the gazebo, maybe & then swim.
Have a good rest of the day and evening.
Enjoy Scott!
