Q1, Would you like to introduce yourself?
Hello there! I’m Dan Ponich from LA Solution Center, a new alt-rock collective based in Vancouver, Canada. I love to make loud music that would make your grandparents cry. My project’s first single “My Piranha” came out in September and we have three more tunes on the way this year!
Q2, Did you ever run away from home?
I would never run away from home. I hate being dirty, love food too much and my survival skills are.. questionable.
Q3, How would you rate your negotiating skills?
Terrible. As much as I appreciate confrontation, I’m still sleeping halfway off the bed as my 20 year old Bengal cat (yes, 20!!) has decided to claim my side.. and I just lie there and take it.
Q4, What are your irritating habits?
Probably TMI, but I have an intense fascination with plucking ingrowns (shoutout r/plucking). Such a rush when you get a lil’ curly boi. My fellow freaks will know what I’m talking about. This is both irritating to myself and those around me.. fun for the whole family!
Q5, What was the last movie you saw?
“Midsommar”! Incredible! We need more of this and less of that superhero trash!!
Q6, When did you last smuggle goods through customs?
My mom doesn’t know this, but when I was in high school, my stupid friends along with my stupid self thought it would be a good idea to smuggle “enlightenment” on a marine bio trip to Hawaii. It turned out it WAS a good idea, but if I could talk to my 17 year-old self I would punch him in his stupid face. Sorry mom!
Q7, Who should take most credit for your success?
I have such a wonderful network of support. From the engineering school I went to (SAE Vancouver) and all the faculty there, to my family and partner.. I am extremely fortunate and do not take the people in my life for granted.
Q8, And, most importantly, what is your favourite type of cookie?
I quit drinking a year ago and ever since I’ve developed a crazy sweet tooth. I am lame and love those pseudo-healthy kind of cookies. Dried cranberries and walnuts or that kind of thing. Must be chewy!!
Hello
Hi Garf! How’s things?
DBS, things or OK, I got my flight refund and then spent it, but I hope to have converted a mountain bike to electric by the weekend (the kit is due to arrive tomorrow)
How is life in the city the that rhymes with fun?
Hmm the page didn’t update on its own this time and I didn’t see your comments.
An electric bike could be useful. Have fun! I am getting by here in Regina. Working from home, looking after my sister, and doing the radio show are the main things for me these days. Autumn is here and I feel like I missed summer but on we go.
