Q1, Would you like to introduce yourself?
My name is Bobby Parent, I grew up on the Gaspe Peninsula in a small rural area on the Baie Des Chaleur! I was raised in an anglophone family in a very French community. The English speaking community in that area is certainly the minority so until I learned to speak French I always felt a little like an outsider. Music however being a very big part of my family united the 2 cultures in that area and I learned to play not only a variety of styles but in 2 different languages which is reflected in my EP ‘Real Love’ with 8 songs in English and 2 in French.
Q2, Do you know how any of your former teachers have reacted to your work?
I do know of at least one teacher from high school who follows me regularly and who has become a fan! I have a lot of former school mates who also follow me now which is very cool!
Q3, What do you consider to be the most unusual food you enjoy eating?
I actually have an IBS condition which prevents me from eating anything interesting. My girlfriend is from the Philippines though so I do eat recipes from that culture, my favorite being Adobo chicken!
Q4, To what extent do you plan your future?
I try not to plan the future at all. I practise meditation and ‘Mindfulness’ techniques which focus completely on the ‘now’. At the most I plan for 24 hours at a time.
Q5, When did you last have a hair cut?
I had a haircut about 3 weeks ago, and didn’t particularly like the cut.
Q6, When did you last feel guilty?
I grew up feeling guilty, I put a lot of work into, ‘letting go’ and ‘acceptance’! I feel guilty now about something but I forget what it is! 🙂
Q7, What toy or game did you enjoy playing when you were younger?
I was in the generation of the first video game consoles so I was a big fan of intellivision, couldn’t wait to get the next new game!
Q8, And, most importantly, what is your favourite type of cookie?
Chocolate Chip or any cookie with chocolate, I really, really love chocolate!
