Hey Our Basement,
A few years ago I played a crummy out-of-town show in Brampton, Ontario, where the band made no money and we were all broke as hell. Myself and a few other members were close to losing our housing due to crappy Toronto landlord situations.
Our new track, “Antisocial,” was written in light of the mental breakdown I had after playing that show and speaks to the problems that come along with living as a young artist in the city, trying to make ends meet and have fun.
“Antisocial” is a cautionary tale to gatekeepers, bad landlords, and other artists of what happens when you overexert yourself.
We chose to create a mood on this track that faces the self-destructive tendencies and mental pressure that can come from show promoters, audiences, and even your own bandmates in some cases.
Take care of yourself and those around you.
It isn’t worth it to allow external pressures to dictate your life.
