Hey Our Basement,
My name is JAD. I’m a Toronto-based singer-songwriter, writing to share “Don’t Let the Sun Set on Me,” a song I wrote to preserve the feelings born in the moments between a certain individual and I during the summer of 2019, two paths converging, if only for a night.
It’s about one of the most significant things that’s happened in my life…there is a distinct before and after. “Don’t Let the Sun Set on Me” captures the desire to want to remain forever in those moments as they’re happening, knowing they’re fleeting – that we’d have to part ways.
When you’ve seen someone as they are, and allowed them to see you…when you’ve made the attempt to understand each other; that it’s the art of love – both pure and true.
It’s one of the most beautiful experiences someone can have, and I do’’t think anyone can truly understand it until it’s happened to them. Hopefully, “Don’t Let the Sun Set on Me” comes close to communicating this experience; transmits these moments, from me to you.
Thank you for your time,
JAD
