Our Basement,
My new song, “Gravity,” is about what it’s like when you choose to love someone in spite of your differences.
Rather than running away from tenuous relationships, “Gravity” embraces the act of holding space for the other person to be themselves with all their flaws and beauty.
This recording holds a sense of weightlessness at points, which I was trying to communicate both musically and lyrically. It’s one of my most ambitious songs as far as writing and production go, using clarinet and strings to create a feeling akin to floating.
My previous single, “Dark,” explores how fear can shrink one’s inner world.
In contrast, “Gravity” is about love causing it to expand.
Thanks for your time,
SHEAL
