Our Basement,
My debut single, “The Rain,” is a metaphor about the growth of a relationship.
I co-wrote the song with my wife, who encouraged me to write in a way that reflects my current relationship and our strengths.
The song’s lyrics describe the simple care and nurture required to sustain a relationship, just as a plant needs rain to drink, sunshine to grow, as well as shade and space.
I juxtapose the chaos of unpredictability of a storm with these acts of care.
“The Rain” is a representation of these ups and downs.
What made this song unique to me was that I had the pleasure of writing it with my wife in front of the fireplace at our ranch, where the song and its lyrics came together quickly.
“The Rain” features the line “they say the grass is always greener, but I can’t be sure,” meaning that you may never be satisfied until you find this out for yourself, through lived experience.
I hope you can relate to this song in many different aspects of life.
Thank you for listening,
Only August
Good Morning
Good morning Scott. How are things in your world?
Exciting. I’m still at work, and everything is almost as usual. There was lots of panic shopping Friday & Saturday, which I did not partake in.
How about in the west.
It’s getting a bit weird around here as well. Lots of shopping and empty shelves going on. I stopped by a Walmart on Friday to pick up a couple things on my way home from work. Yikes! What a crazy place! The rest of the weekend I got some cleaning done at my sister’s and then at my place. I may eventually get my house cleaned out so we can get it fixed up. Eventually.
I have a brother in Hawaii, deciding on their plans to get home. Another brother just cancelled their planned trip to Florida. I am off to work for a few hours and then to the radio station but am avoiding large groups. I do not want to pass anything on to my sister with her lowered immune system!
Sounds like you are doing the right things. Stay safe.
I still receive some e-mails from our Chinese tool makers. It sounds like things are slowly getting better there.
If anyone else is around I would like to hear how things are going for you.
