Hello Our Basement,

We have spent the last two years on the road touring behind our debut album, It Will Come To You. Our new song, “Love U More,” first came to life as we barrelled down the autobahn at 190 kilometres an hour last year, the opening synth line’s melody looping through lead ACTOR, Jason Corbett’s head.

Our vocalist and synth player, Shannon Hemmett, describes the atmosphere of “Love U More” as standing alone on a shadowy street.

I see the flash of a cat’s eyes in the dark. I am hunting and hunted, recognizing that tension that lives inside me, and all of us. This track embraces the bittersweet moments of loss with the anticipation of new possibilities.

An eerie intensity is captured in the song’s video, directed by JUNO and Leo Award winner, Peter Ricq. Follow our protagonist through the streets of Vancouver to an empty theatre where they deliver an unsettling performance.

We have been spending this year’s lockdown finishing our upcoming record, rehearsing dynamic new songs and preparing for the upcoming months. Produced, mixed and mastered by Jason at his Jacknife Sound studio, “Love U More” is just a taste of what is to come from us in the near future.
